  1. Yeah, I think after talking about it more in depth, we've decided he'll just go alone to tick this box and cross the finish line. Still pretty bummed I won't be there for the final step, but it will be a HUGE relief to be done with this process after such a long journey from K1 to now. Thanks so much for the input. Nice to read it won't be too odd for him to go alone.
  2. Hi guys! Hoping someone can help... my husband's oath ceremony was just scheduled and the date falls on a day that I will be out of the country. I *REALLY* want to be there but I can't change my travel plans, unfortunately. Should he go to the ceremony alone to get it done or should we ask to be rescheduled? We mentioned this possibility to the IO during our interview and he said "it happens all the time, just let us know if you need to be rescheduled" but it makes me sooo nervous for him to get lost in the pile or for it to take months to get back on the schedule again. The field office isn't far from our house, would you recommend hand delivering it to the office and asking for help or just sending it snail mail and waiting? Is it weird for him to go alone? The thought makes me so sad, but so does the thought of going to the end of the line. Any advice for us? Thanks!
  3. Just home from our interview and the IO said congrats and gave us the letter saying our application was being recommended for approval. Said we should get an Oath Ceremony letter in the next couple of weeks. So relieved the end is in sight!
  4. Filed Jan 7th and posted on the first page of this thread... feels like it took forever compared to some people who got interviews right away haha Can't wait to be done!
  5. Just got our interview notice on a Sunday... blown away! Scheduled for July 11th in Charlotte... yay!
  6. Just submitted my husband's N400 online. It was quick and easy and we've already gotten the receipt and biometric reuse update. Crossing our fingers the process is quick and easy. He's been here for 5 years now (we got married in Aug 2018) but 10 year GC took FOOOOOOREVER at Potomac. Just got that in July, so hoping this is smoother ❤️ Can't believe how long it's been since we started the whole K1 visa journey!
  7. Posted in the monthly thread already, but filed for my husband in Jan 2021 and he just got his GC in the mail a few days ago. Case approved Jul 14th. So grateful to be out of waiting in YSC hell. On the plus side, I didn't realize the new GC would expire 10 years from issuance, so it doesn't expire until 2033 which is nice.
  8. Hooooooly... After reaching the "it'll happen when it happens" state of waiting for my husband's 10 year GC to be approved by the Potomac Service center, this morning I noticed a package from USCIS was coming soon on USPS Informed Delivery today. Went to check the case status after not checking in weeks and it FINALLY says "card was mailed to you" as of the 14th. I am so relieved for this to be done and feel awful for anyone who gets assigned YSC. Watching other service centers get approvals within 8 months to a year and we're at 30 months is soooo frustrating.
  9. Husband just got his 48 month extension letter today. Jan 2021 filer. Why in the heck is Potomac soooo slow? Guess it's time to file N400. We were waiting to see if the 10 year came at the 2 year mark, and didn't want it to get transferred right before we might be done, but it seems like there's no point in waiting now. Crazy!
