  1. Hello, my mom got her visa already and she will be coming to US soon however, there’s been a change of plan and the address we put on her DS260 where she intends to stay in the US is no longer the address she will be going when she enter the US. How do I update this? Who to inform and how? thank you
  2. Hello, I’m seeking advice regarding my mom’s immigration situation. Here’s a brief overview: Current Status: My mom’s IR5 visa is pending approval, and she needs to enter the US by the end of October. Situation: I’m the spouse of an active duty military member, and I am the petitioner. We are currently stationed overseas. Given our circumstances, I’m wondering if it is possible for my mom to enter the US and then travel outside the US within a day or a few days to join us at our current overseas location. If not feasible, the other option is to have her stay with a distant relative. ***to make things more complicated and just for additional information that might be relevant to the situation, we are starting the process of adding my mom as a secondary dependent of my spouse. This is to have her added to the orders and be with us in the US or overseas. But for the meantime, I wanted to get any insights regarding the above situation while the dependency application is pending*** Any insights or advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
  3. When we started the process in 2022, we were still in the US. We didn’t know we’ll be stationed overseas then. We just moved overseas in January 2024
  4. Another thing we can consider is, we have some family in the US we can ask for my mom to stay with. We are planning to add my mom as military dependent to hopefully be able to take her with us outside the US.
  5. Urgent help needed! I am a US Citizen petitioning for my mom from the Philippines. We are a military family being my husband is an active duty and we just moved overseas due to military orders. We just received interview letter and we are to schedule for my mom’s medical. i am currently registering for and appointment however, one requirement is petitioner’s US address. We are currently overseas so we don’t have a US address. What should we do? It’s also asking for the intended port of entry in the US. Also, I have updated our address in the USCIS portal. do I need to update our address anywhere else? HELP!!!
  6. Hello, My IR5 filing is on NVC stage. I just got an RFE. NVC is requiring for my w2/1099 for 2022. I don’t have any of those since I did not work for the whole year. i have my husband and sister-in-law to sponsor and i have submitted both tax transcript and w2s for them. All accepted. what should i submit? Do i download and submit wage and income transcript from IRS showing $0? Would that even be the right document for their request? HELP!!!!
  7. Hello, Just wanted to check what worked for you? How did you move forward with the process. I have the same issue.
  8. Can Federal Income Tax return considered as Proof of Domicile?
  9. Just for verification before we sign the I-864A.... Since me and my spouse's taxes are filed jointly and the asset (bank account) that we're using are both in our names, the amounts on these items from I-864 and I-864A should be the same, right? I'm not sure this was answered on the links I've checked. Thank you.
  10. Thank you for this link that leads to a “portal” of informative experiences 😊. My plan would be to fill out the I-864. I don’t have income for 2022 so I will be filling out I-864A since my husband will be a joint sponsor. His income is insufficient though so we are using assets (bank savings) to qualify. We decided to line up a joint sponsor as a back up in case they require later in the interview. Would it help to include a letter in CEAC that says "We have provided evidence of our assets to fulfill the financial requirement of the I-864 and I understand that the final decision will be made by the Consular Officer." This way, we could probably avoid RFE?
  11. Hello, I’m here seeking for advice. I can’t complete my I-864 as I am still searching for answers and hoping that others have the same experience and wanting to know what has been the result. Anyway, our household income is insufficient to cover the poverty guideline. We have a savings account that could cover the difference (x5). I wanted to know if anyone else used their savings for the I-864 and what were your experiences. Did it caused RFEs, delays? Anything else? I’m just worried that assets may not have enough bearing compared to income. But wanted to use it anyway before using another sponsor. Please throw any advise. Beneficiary is in the Philippines (if that helps). Thank you.
