Born and raised in Vancouver Canada, I met my future husband while on vacation in beautiful Honolulu hawaii. We kept in touch via emails, texts and Skype and decided to go to Vegas together. After talking for 8 months we made it official that we are a couple while in Vegas. I visited my love every month and in jan 2014 while vacationing in Hawaii with my family, I decided I wanted to stay and in March he asked me to marry him! We had a small beach wedding may 25th 2014. We started the visa process but I knew it wasn't going to be easy. He was incarcerated for 5 years for something he was wrongly accused of when he was 21. He is a good man but because of his convictions, it's difficult for him to find a good paying job. He worked as a bartender and because he was being paid cash couldn't file taxes. We hired an immigration lawyer and I'm so glad we did. I had this feeling that our application would not go through because of those 2 problems but thank God.. It did.
