I met Michael while I was studying abroad in Scotland. He owned a restaurant/ bar/ antique store and when I walked in with a friend who had a meeting with him we both were like dumbstruck school children- unable to do anything but smile and stare. I became one of his barflies for a couple weeks until I couldn't take it anymore and asked him to lunch. After the 4 hour lunch I spent every night with him for the remainder of my studies. Went back to the US and thought I'd never see him again, but he came to visit me shortly after I moved back and I was hooked for good. :) Moved to Scotland for 6 months after I graduated and then we were married back in the US in February 2013.
After a long wait, he received his green card in Jan 2015 and got permanent residency in 2018. Now we are going for citizenship, hoping it will be complete by Dec 2020.
