My husband and I met on shaadi.com (an Indian matrimonial site). We started emailing and chatting in September 2012. In October I went to India on vacation with my parents, and my husband and I continued to chat and email.
After about a month, we started talking over the phone, and really started to get to know one another. My last day in India, we were talking on the phone as usual, and my husband shocked me by saying that he was planning on surprising me at the Delhi airport that night! But he was unable to get a day off from work. But something in his voice made me realize that there is something more to this than it seems. So I spoke with my parents and asked them if we could extend our stay in India so that my husband and I could meet. My parents spoke to my husband to confirm that he would come to Delhi to meet me and my parents and we decided to extend our stay by 2 days.
We met in Delhi on November 5, 2012 and spent the next day together as well. The morning November 6th, my parents asked both of us what our decision was, and we both said yes! And that was it! We had decided to get married!
Now the parents started communicating and planning the wedding date and making all of the arrangements. We got married on March 11, 2012 in my husband's hometown of Jammu in Jammu & Kashmir, India.
