  1. Of course it's true. That's why Sharia law divorce is not a practical means of divorce if you were married as a Christian. They will reject it
  2. Before Duterte this was a very common thing to do for many Christian people trying to get a divorce that were married in the Philippines. They would " convert to Islam" get a divorce under Sharia law, and then be good to go so that they can be petitioned by a fiance or get married in the Philippines again. But during duterte's presidency he asked the embassy to deny people that did that, so since then the US embassy has been denying people that have done this. So it is not a valid way to get a divorce in the Philippines anymore if you aim to be petitioned by a fiance or future spouse.
  3. Oh that sucks but at least you know now. So just buy the ticket now and carry the documentation with you to show the name change. As I said on another thread my wife has done this many times now without issue at all. The most recent time was back in August when she flew back from Davao to the USA. Edit: At least you know about EVA Air not doing it. I made the mistake the first time we flew back there in 2014 and Philippine Air charged us $100 to change it
  4. Have you guys reported the marriage to the embassy? If you have then you can update her passport with the married name, if you haven't then you can't. My asawa has flown many times from the US to the Philippines with a passport in her maiden name and a green card in her married name
  5. Depending on the airline that will charge a fee to do this.
  6. Long time no see everyone. I hope everyone is doing good here because I am doing good. I want to say thank you for the people that supported me back during my election. We didn't win (which was expected) but I did make sure that he actually had to campaign for his job instead of just coasting. Also he had to put in alot of money into his campaign just to beat little old me. Now, I am still here in NC and the wife is finally deciding to file for Naturalization while I am behind the scenes here in NC as a unpaid consultant to a number of politicians on veterans issues here in the state. I just wanted to stop by to say Hey and that I might start becoming more active here again
  7. No, if you are overseas as a spouse of a US civilian or military servicemember it is just like if you are here in the USA>
  8. No, a CFO SHOULD not be required for her since it is only a B2 tourist visa. Unfortunately sometimes the Philippines airport authorities try to exert their power to deny people. Remind her to be strong and she shouldn't have a problem at all
  9. So did you show your original CENOMAR or CEMAR at the interview, if not why? Since you were married in the Philippines you will need the CEMAR AND the divorce decree from Singapore. It needs to be the certified document from the Singaporean government.
  10. They will be fawning over him all the while he don't have to answer any questions about the EPA superfund site in Ohio
  11. They will still redo x-rays even if you bring your old ones. If you don't bring your immunization paperwork then you will just get more shots there.
  12. Do you have an idea where she is PCSing to next, how are you feeling about that? I have always heard that living in Germany with the AF/Army is pretty great. A lady I used to work with is over there right now loving life. She actually extended over there because she went in December 2019 right before Covid hit and wasn't able to do much then. Now they are doing alot of things and they are living it up. She is constantly trying to get me over there but to be honest with you I am trying to go over to Japan or Singapore as a DAC.
