Our story begins on Facebook. Anis sent me a greeting of friendship July 13th 2017. I had been injured at work that afternoon and was sent home for the day to recover. I answered his message and we began a pleasant conversation. My intuition felt relaxed about this new interesting friend. I asked where he lived and his cute reply was Africa baby. I laughed and was intrigued. Our conversations continued the next day and many days after that. Daily we discovered more about each other common things we shared and how much we enjoyed each talking . It makes us smile to see each other daily on video chat or send pictures messages. In September of 2017 we decide we to meet. I applied for a passport in October and began making preparations to visit Tunisia. The usual passport processing time is three to six weeks. It arrived in ten days. Another sign to me that my first overseas trip was to visit this unusual destination. I left Phoenix Sunday morning and arrived in Tunis on Tuesday afternoon. Modern technology kept Anis and I in contact often during the entire journey. I was anxious and excited to meet this fabulous soul. I walked into the almost vacant reception area and there was Anis smiling. It was a moment we will remember forever. So special to finally meet in person. We had coffee and a croissant and talked face to face. It was a powerful connection and I was looking forward to experiencing Anis and his beautiful country together .
