I just did the RFE trick. I'm in tears as I write this.

Since my I-130 was approved months ago my I-129F will be terminated. That is the new policy. I was on hold for a long time while the chick at VSC spoke to her supervisor.

I followed the instructions and paid the money. And now I'm being forced to take the CR1 after wasting 4 months waiting for the I-129F to be approved. I did NOT pay the NVC I did NOT pursue the CR1

Now I am behind 4 months and have to start from scratch and STILL have to wait 10 months for the embassy.

I cant function.

I'm very near suicidal at this point.

CR-1 is the superior visa, it is an Immigrant visa, gets green-card upon entry, allowing work.

K-3 has to adjust status ($1010 FEE) and cannot work until getting EAD or the Green-Card, EAD can take 90 days to get.

In the long run, you'll be glad this happened. No adjustment of status after you get stateside. No delayed greencard because the FBI can't get your namecheck done.

It might stink at the moment, but in the end you'll be glad of this. There were many days I wished my husand and I had filed the CR1 instead of the K1.

Ditto to that!

Oh Kathryn, so sorry to hear this. But like rebeccajo said, this may be a blessing in disguise.

Why do you have to start from scratch? Don't they have the approved I-130? I would think they would just go from there.

Just take a deep breath. Everything is going to be OK (F)

If there is any way in hell that a member of your family can help you get an immigration attorney to file for expedites.. .now is the time.. Do you have any family that is willing to help you? You really need support now more than ever especially when hit with bad news. I had this feeling in May when I got m arried and then my visa was approved and I had to start completely all over again...

I will help come up with ideas the best I can.. We just need that Cr1 back in play again and on its way to NVC. Lets find out how to do that...

I know that you are devastated. Although the CR-1 typically takes longer, it is better than the K-3. Don't despair. Suicide is a strong word. Please do not allow this frustrating process to break up your marriage. How would your spouse and child feel if you were to take your life? Please use VJ as a support system. I wish you all the best!
