I'm making a CD with some of our favorite songs for the DJ to play at our wedding reception next weekend. I've put a lot of Italian songs that are special to us. I'd like to also put Arabic songs as well that are good for dancing, and that will be fun for our guests (who don't know any arabic music, presumably). So far, I only have "Aisha" by Khaled, because we both really like that song.

I'd love to get recommendations for some more fun dancing songs. Unfortunately, I am not really familiar with much besides Khaled.

Thanks in advance!

hahahha dont make me massacre the arabic names, but let me try

my favorite MAMI song is Maandi Ouali, he also has some festive duets with Khaled

and pretty much anything by Amr, he's quite the pop star

Adnan also really likes a singer called georges wassouf, but personally I dont think its fun enough for a wedding...

I'll try to think some more, we have a lot of arabic music. I'll come up with some more after work.

All the stuff I listen to is Egyptian, which is fun, but I'm not sure if people outside of egypt really like. Everyone likes Amr Diab right

I'll ask DH what he would recommend.

Yoam Wara Yoam by Samira Said is great dance song. It is about two loves who were separated and are now together again and Samira Said is Moroccan, so it would be appropriate in a lot of ways.

For faster beats, I would recommend:

Amr Diab - Habibi Ya Noor El 3een

Haifa Wehbe - Ya Hayat Albi

Mostafa Amr - Habeeb Hayati

Nancy Ajram - Akhasmak Ah

Mohamed Mounir - So Ya So or Ya Donia (with Khaled Agag)

There are so many good songs but I think these have beats that even people who are not fans of non-Arabic music would like and find themselves moving too. I could list many artists but it seems like you were looking for specific songs.

Thank you so much, Rebecca. You saved me a ton of work listening to a bunch of songs and trying to decide between them. I'll take your word for it!

And I will direct all unhappy parties from our wedding to you to complain!:P

Khaled Agag (I love this guy) - Walla Mara (this one seems to get the Egyptians going)

Nawal el Zoughby - I brought back a CD that has some of her popular songs on it . . Eyneik Kaddabin and Bi'Eynak . . . both of these are great for dancing because I know ppl who use them for teaching belly dance (me too LOL).

I have stacks of CDs but to find the ones I want can be difficult at times.

If you have an email account with lots of storage, I could email these to you later. Just send me a PM with your email if you are interested.

I probably have some that other people have suggested too.

I can do the same thing since I have the songs I mentioned on my laptop. LOL, Just copied the Nawal CD, so that is easy enough . . . but like Rebecca said you will need lots of storage space for a bunch of songs!!

Good Songs:

Ehab Tawfik - Allah Alek Ya Sidi

Nancy Ajram - Loun Eyonak

Fares Karam - Tanora

Fares Karam- Dakhelo

Some of my faves! It doesn't matter where the singer is from, as long as its a good beat! :D

You can download them all from www.mazikana.com, it's sorted alphabetically by singer.
