How did you package up your I-129F Application for mailing?

Please share how you packaged up your I-129F application.

I read the guides, and finally found a link that discussed using a two hole punch and a fastener to put it all together. I haven't done that yet, but I will go reformat all my documents to include room at the top for a two hole punch and go buy the fastener... If I really need too.

I was just going to send all the paperwork in one stack, with those sticky tabs as separators, in a manila folder, and put that in an envelope for mailing. Is that good enough? Any other suggestions for what has worked for you?

Thanks,

Mac

Assemble it in such a way that it can be easily disassembled.... It will be taken apart during the adjudication process...

FWIW, I would suggest seriously taking a look at the content and see if everything you are providing is required and beneficial for yor petition. You might find that somethings are superfulous\overkill and can be held out..... or at a minimum trimmed back to something more reasonable....

I used ACCO fasteners to hold the package together and used tabbed separators between each section of documents.

Thanks for the links, I already read the guides ^^ i was just wondering if people were actually doing that, or in practice something different.

Looks like I'll have to go buy a two-hole punch and a ACCO fastener... I had to google those, I never heard of them before.

I think I did ? I think your implying my package is too big ( as if that is possible), but the question of how much is too much to include seems to be a big grey area. I included what the guide said to include, and even left some out, and thats what I ended up with.

Some people seem to be minimalist, some seem to throw everything in and the kitchen sink, I think I have tried to keep what is relevant and be able to show good history, so how much is too much? Is it weight of the package or the height of the stack of paper that gets you through?

Your case file will end up two-hole punched and assembled in the order USCIS wants it, so there's no need to go out and buy fasteners you won't ever use again. Secure the documents in the order they are mentioned in your cover letter, in such a way they will remain in that order until the package is opened. I used some paper clips and a larger clamp style clip. You can simply bind them with string if you want. The idea is to get them there intact and in order.

I made a detailed coversheet and just put it all in that order (no tabs, nothing holding it together). I got approved without any trouble at all so I assume that it wasn't a big no no to do it that way. I was pretty confused about what was acceptable at first- but I'm very sure that this time around (when sending my fiance his papers for the interview) i'll have more organization and seperation.

Almost the same here except that I used one ACCO fastener hold the package together and used tabbed separators with labels identifying each section of documents.

If you have 1.5 inches for a I-129F, you probably have WAY too much stuff in there and you're even more obsessive then I am (mine was about 1/2 inch).

IMO all this hole punching and ACCO fastening stuff is a waste of time and money. What's the point? They're going to take it apart, throw away the stuff you bought, and assemble it the way they want it anyway. :hehe:

I just grouped everything logically and used a few staples and paperclips. I put the loose photos in plastic zip-lock bags and stapled those to a sheet of paper.
