hi all,

i filed an I-29f with the nebraska service center in may, but it was transferred to the california service center. we'll probably be waiting at least another 3 months before it even hits the consulate in montreal and the wait times for the

k-1 interviews are just over 4 months. but the wait times for the consulate in vancouver are just over 2 months. can i change it to have them send it to the vancouver consulate after they receive it at the NVC or do i have to wait until it gets to montreal and reroute it. also, it might take a bit of time for them to transfer it from montreal to vancouver so i'm also concerned if i might just be wasting time getting it transferred?

I know that Vancouver is cracking down on petitions being transferred to their consulate from Montreal, so the chances of getting it approved are quite slim at this point. I believe that you have to show an extenuating circumstance or very good reason why you're asking for the petition to be transferred, as well as prove residency in the Vancouver consulate's jurisdiction.
