Mothers who think their kids are

Ok theres this woman at my job, ive hated her since i began working here almost a year ago. She talks ONLY about her kid. her kid is 4 yrs old. Anyway, the woman i work with she is single and living at home with her parents, she threw a fit when she was given a small raise and the state took away her daycare assistance. Ok uhm if your living at home with mommy and daddy and made the comment of "i dont plan to move out into my own place" why do you need state assistance anyway? anyway she came up to me yesterday and started talking about her daughter (i tried hard to get away), and was telling me about taking her to the pool the other day. I tried so hard not to listen, anyway, she stated her daughter was drowing (doubtful, she overreacts over EVERYTHING) and shes going on and on and makes the statement " and running to my daughter, this stupid 2 yr old was in my way so i pushed him over" ok at this point i was pissed and paying attention, who the hell pushes a 2 yr old into a pool bc your too lazy to go AROUND the kid. then shes going on how the mom had the "nerve" to yell at her bc she pushed her son in the pool. I stated the same. Anyway i told her " i dont know who that woman and kid were but if it had been my kid and you pushed him in the pool i would have kicked your ####### all over the pool. and she was OFFENDED!!! so i guess its ok to drown another kid bc your kid is "drowning". My first question was, why were you not WITH your 4 yr old, its a public pool, you dont leave a 4 yr old by themselves.

I completely agree with you. There're a lot of mothers, specially young ones with their first child, that their child becomes everything, it's the king/queen of the world, and the rest doesn't matter or exist anymore.

exactly! And i being a mother of 2 realise yea, our kids are coolio, but OMG, try NOT to talk about ONLY your kids, there are other topics in the world. and atleast have respect for others ppls kids, and not knock them over into pools when they cant swim bc shes too lazy to be with her daughter who is 4 and shouldnt have been unsupervised in a pool anyway.....she keeps saying to me this morning " i cant believe you sd youd kick my #######", im gonna hit her, if she doesnt go home or something ill end up hitting her

I love reading your stories. You're hilarious! Have you ever seen OFFICE SPACE? That's one of my favorite movies. But yeah, I understand. If I had been that mother of the 2 year old, I wouldn't have just threatened to kick her #######. I would have done it. She's lucky she didn't drown that baby.

Have you ever thought that perhaps she has NO life and that the only thing she has to talk about is her child? That's probably why she only has this line of conversation; having a child is her only "accomplishment" and she has nothing else of note in her life to bring up in a conversation.

Children shouldn't define us, imo...so I'm sorry that you have to share an office with such a person. You could steal her stapler...

Yes i have thought about her having no life other than her child, thats cool, i once had no life other than my daughter, but i didnt annoy ppl to the brink of suicide with conversation of ONLY Shonna.

She sits infront of the pc all day, she can read the news, or look at the weather, both of those are for good long conversation starters. But NOOOOOOO, she cant even go pee without talking to someone in the bathroom about her daughter.

and i may just steal her stapler and blame it on her daughter

I'm not making excuses for her, I can't think of anything more tedious than hearing someone talk about their child 24 hours a day. *yawns*. I have to admit, if it were me having to listen to it I'd probably be quite rude to her until she stopped talking to me.

This is one of my coworkers to a "T". Her only accomplishment in life is to be a mother so she manages to slip her children into any and all conversations. She can turn any conversation into a talk about Jess or Brandon. You should see the eye rolling that goes on in our lunch room.

To be honest I am sick of those types of parents. Should not even call them parents. I came across someone like that the other day and thought I would stir her up as was like, "does your kid have down syndrome because he looks a little u know". She was like "NO she does not!" has not spoken to me since. What a dam shame I tell u..

I agree with Mags, it has nothing to do with the kids and everything to do with the moms being selfish egomaniacs....

I'm really starting to be more and more of an advocate for parenting licences....

Not to mention people abusing the system for medical and daycare I don't think it helps my husband's ex is one of them
