Can anyone tell me how long it took for their NOA1 to come back the TEXAS center. I sent my I-130 petiton off to Tx on May 22 and I have not recieve anything from them. I called them and it showed that it is not in their computer. I hope someone can shed some light on this for me.

Ahmad,

I filed through Texas Service Center. My NOA1 was nine days later. How did you mail the I-130? Did you use Priority Mail, Express mail? Did you get a tracking receipt?

That was months ago. Currently California is running behind on sending NOA1's but is committed to catch up by the end of June or so. Yes, you mailed your petition to Texas but your NOA1 will come from California because your case was transferred like all the others.

Ahmad,

I sent my I-130 on April 12 to TSC and never received a NOA1. Don't be alarmed. Here's what you should do:

1. If you sent your payment through a personal check, see if the check was posted on your bank statement online. If the check is posted, on the back of the check, you should be able to find your case number. It will start with three letters (Mine was with a WAC. See my earlier post here for more details). Once you have your case number figured out, you can check status of your case using that case number on USCSI website.

2. Wait for about 30 days after TSC has received your I-130, then call USCIS customer service to inquire about its status. They will basically tell you just wait more but if you are unable to locate your case number, they can pull up your file (using your full name and date of birth) and give you your case number. This will confirm that your application is in their system (at least).

3. If you are planning to file K3 and waiting for NOA1 for I-130, as long as you have a case number generated that you can pull up on USCIS website, don't wait any longer for NOA1. You can file with a print-out your case status and a copy of the cashed check. I wasted valuable time waiting for NOA1 for I-130 and should have filed much sooner.

Hope this helps!
