My fiancee will be here in early August (hopefully...see timeline). We plan to marry soon as possible and know from this friendly site to file Adjustment of Status (AOS) right after the wedding. How do we plan a honeymoon? She is from China and we wish to travel to Paris.

How long will it take to process the I-131?

Does the AOS have ot be completed before one can file a 131? How do the two "go together" and are there potential problems involved.

new fee structure...%$#!!

Once again, the good ol US govt sticking it to those of us going through the channels LEGALLY!

Met in China December 2005

engaged July 2006

Applied I-129 September 17, 2006

K-1 visa received 8/1/07

married 9/8/07

AOS application 9/17/07

AOS receipt 9/29/07

AP received 11/13/07

Any Harbin people out there...especially in Texas?

Two things to consider.

AP (I-131) can take up to 90 days to get, and you WILL need to get a visa for your spouse to travel to France. France and China do not have a visa waiver program.

I always like to say you worked so hard to get your fiancee to the USA why not visit places in the USA for a honeymoon? Your fiancee is immigrating to the USA and probbably want to see mor of the USA.

You can file for AOS, and AP together, and after July 29 the higher fee will include AP, and EAD as part of that $1010 price.

Finally I see China, so have you found "A Candle for Love" That boad specializes in American/Chinese immigrations and relationships.
