Hello All,

I am so grateful that this forum is available. Currently my husband's case is at the NVC and a representative has just advised me that they are requesting that we send the DS 230 part II, orig. marriage and birth certificate and police records to the NVC. On the site, it says that all this information should be gathered for the interview.

Has anyone heard that the NVC is now scheduling the interview for the US Embassy in Kingston, Jamaica? Apparently the rules have recently changed. I am just worried about how much longer I have to be away from my husbanc.

Thank you for all your help. :help:

No matter what someone may have told you on the phone, the DS-230 letter that NVC will send to you will tell you go to http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3176.html and follow the instructions for sending documents. As of right now, that site shows that Kingston is still only Standard Processing, meaning you only send Part I and a copy of the passport bio page.

No I didn't know anything about it. I looked on the website and it still shows the bio page and DS-230 part I. I'm going to send part II anyway b/c I don't want any delays. I didn't see anything in your signature and no timeline so we're not sure what stage you are in. Maybe you should wait until you recv the IV letter to confirm what is required.

Thank you all so much for the responses. I called the NVC again this afternoon and they told me that they are requesting the DS230 Part II, my husband's birth certificate, our marriage certificate (both originals, not copies) and the police records. The lady told me that they will forward it to Kingston when the interview date is scheduled. (I am not sure how "new" this is).

Nyseness: I am sorry, I am not sure how to do the timeline, I have only been here for 24 hours  . I am assuming we will get the letter from NVC next week. We are at the point of waiting for them to forward the information to the embassy and now with this "new" request, I am not sure how much longer it will be. I just want to get to the interview and finally have him here.

If I hear anything more about these changes, I will be sure to post.

I just finished our paperwork and interview in Kingston in May. NVC didn't need any of those items you stated. I would just wait and see then. They didn't need any of those items until the interview in Kingston.

Thank you all for the information. Actually it seems that they have made the changes. Here is the link for the information: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3196.html. Apparently they recently made the changes and now they are requesting that all the documents that we would take to the interview, now be sent to them.

Nyseness - I would propose you let your hubby know to start collecting all this information so that by the time they send you the RFE, you are prepared to send it back. From the Ministry of National Security website, you can get the police certificate same day, in 3 days or 21 days. I have told my husband to start working on it so that he can send it to me. Everything else that they want, I already have with me.

Thank you all for your help. I will keep you posted as to our progress :)

:help:

The process has changed. I submitted the DS 230 and it was place on hold until the additional info, marriage license, birth certificate and police certificate, is sent to the NVC. Based on the info I was given at the NVC, once this info is received the interview will be scheduled at the NVC for the Kingston Embassy. I also questioned the rep as to why the info on the website has not been update to reflect these new changes. The rep provided me with a number I could call in Washington, DC to make a complaint. In additional I email my concerns to the NVC but got the response that the process has change and in order for my file to move I would need to provide the additional info.

I overnight this info to the NVC on yesterday. The file was put on hold on June 2 so I lost about 7 business days with this new change. I will let you know how long it takes to get my interview scheduled with this new process.

Thanks for the information. I think I will make a complaint because this will delay our case. The good thing is that the NVC seems to be moving pretty quickly, the only thing is how long it will take to get an interview.
