yesterday we recieved a RFE !!! :(

I think something has to do with our tax return do we have to send the tax return of the last 3 years or last year?

also do We have to send W-2s ??? we didn't get our tax return check back ? and I sent them the 2006 tax return papaer is this could be the reason why they sent us the RFE because they didn't see if our tax return of the 2006 didn't go through yet?

I am confused and I really need help

any help would be appreciated :help:

thank you in advance

We didn't file an extension but we did have to send our tax return to a different address than normal because Salwa doesn't have a SSN yet so we had to apply for a taxpayer id #(tin) BUT we also didn't send the copies of the W-2s so I am thinking that is what they need. So our plan will be to send last 3 years tax returns with W-2s

If you have any savings accounts, certificates of deposit, or anything else with interest, you may also have a 1099-INT. I had these and had forgotten to send them. We just sent them today since it does ask for all 1099's. We had already sent the W-2's. This seems to be a common RFE.

Our K-1 Visa/AOS/RoC timeline can be found here.

You have to send the W2s as well. I think it even says that in the instructions for the I-864. Good luck!

The recent posts that mention RFE's for W-2/tax info is becoming worrisome.

We sent in my tax info - actual tax transcripts from IRS for the past 3 years. All three years are well over the guidelines. I did not send any other information (ie W-2's, 1099's and such), because it is my understanding that with a transcript, this was not necessary. The I-864ez mentioned that a tax transcript was sufficient, but it seems that they are sending out quite a few RFEs with regard to the Affidavit of Support.

I also included an employment letter outlining my title, salary and their wish that I would continue to work for them. I also sent my most recent check stub and a print out from the payroll company outlining my checks for year 2007.

Obviously we won't know until we receive either an interview letter, or an RFE, but do you think this will suffice?

I'm pretty sure it states in the I-864 instructions that the supplementary documentation isn't necessary if you submit transcripts from the IRS.

Very true. We submitted a copy of our tax transcript with the AOS application and then received a RFE asking for another copy of that very same transcript - same year and everything - and that sufficed. Unfortunately, as a lot of people say on these forums, you can never be 100% sure that what you're submitting will be enough to prevent a RFE.

Thank you all for the reassurances!

I am so thrilled that I found this forum. It is great to be able to speak with people who are going through/have gone through the process.

Thanks again.
