OK - after wracking my brain trying to figure out what concerns they had about my application, I called in. After trying to get a real person I decided that maybe I had an RFE that they didn't tell me about, and I might be able to find out more info through the RFE section. This got me to a real person, who told me my applications were both approved 15 days prior. Still no NOA2s on either, but at least I'm approved!

This is what I did: (pretty sure- I took notes on how to navigate the menu when I went through it))

CSC: 1.800.375.5283

- 1 for English

- 2 for main menu

- 2 for questions about RFE

- 4 For RFE questions

so YAY!!!!! i feel much much better. I still don't have an NOA2, which I think means they still haven't sent it to the NVC yet, so still more waiting, but at least they have approved the visa. I can stop my paranoid worrying about RFE's and denials. :)

You have two petitions, not "visas" approved. Only the I-129 for K3 will be forwarded to NVC. The I-130 will be retained at the service center. You can call NVC directly to confirm they have your case and get their new case number for you. You'll need to call 603.334.0700 and use menus -1-5 to speak to a live operator. No K3 information is available through the automated system.

I don't understand. The USCIS website does not show you that your applications were approved?

Congratulations Portlander (and citizen and nyseness)! We're all doing the same thing. The woman I spoke with at CSC, when I told her I was calling because the website hadn't been updated (and I smelled approval but worried about a RFE) said, "Yeah, people have been calling about it and we're looking into it." The woman I spoke with was very pleasant.

I hope things now speed up for all of us! Congratulations to you again!

OK - I've been trying to get through for days now, and the folks posting in the threads I found on the subject have said it can't be done. This this thread. I'm happy to hear its old news :)

Well, we've been married since 2005, have a baby, and are the same age. The "interview" when it comes will consist of a quick glance at the file and the phrase "OK, come back tomorrow for your visa." :P Just a matter of getting the right forms in, but those are mostly done already.

Thanks for that - I've been trying to call, but it keeps kicking me back to the automated system cause the lines are full (it takes them awfully long to tell you they're busy, doesn't it?!!). I guess I have to try later when things slow down for them.

The woman I spoke to was very pleasant as well. I have new "touches" but that could just be the woman looking up my file. I hope she puts it into the system so I can get a number out of it....

Portlander,

Point of clarification - no visa has been approved. A visa has not yet been applied for, that comes next.

[EDIT: I see that pushbrk has pointed that out already, sorry for the duplication but it is important to have an accurate understanding of what you're doing.]

Congatulations on the NOA2 Portlander. And it is good to here that you found your way through the automated maze.

I know pushing 0 for a live persons gets you an annoying message and eventually a disconnect.
