April K3 Filers

This is an invitation to anyone who filed a K3 in or close to April to post on this thread. It seems that many of us who have filed in April are having delays with checks being cleared and receiving a NOA1. I think it would be helpful to keep each other updated with concerns or activity on our visa applications.

I plan to call USCIS within the next two days because it will be 30 days since my packaged arrived without my check clearing or receiving a NOA1.

Hey! I didn't file for K3 yet. But I have a question if you can help: I just got married to a permanent resident and I am on F-1 visa. I was told once that in order for me to change the status and start the process of received green card, i have to go back to my country. But it's too risky. Do you know what should we do? And do I have to fill out I-130 or some other papers?

If you married a permanent resident, you can't go with K3. K3 is for sponser and children of US citizens. If your spouse is going tobe US citizen soon, you should wait and apply green card in US with your spouse later.

Seems it is ture that April filers are been pushed slower down.

Please post here once you got information from USCIS. I guess they would tell you to wait another 10-20 days....

02/14/2007-- married (Valentine's Day)

04/03/2007-- mailed I-130 to TSC

04/18/2007-- date on NOA receipt

04/21/2007-- I-797 NOA received in mail

04/24/2007-- check cashed

I-129F PROCESS

04/23/2007-- mailed I-129F to Chicago

04/25/2007-- received at Chicago (mail delivery confirmation)

04/27/2007-- date on NOA receipt

05/01/2007-- I-797 NOA received in mail

05/03/2007-- touched

05/11/2007-- email notification that file being transferred to CSC

I am surprised to see that your check hasn't cleared yet. I thought for sure by now... Our filings were 2 days apart. Man, was the wait painful. Hope to see you get that check cleared and/or the NOA1 soon.

I just sent in my 129F for the K-3 on Monday, it was received on Tuesday. so I am once again waiting for an NOA1, but I won't start stressing until next Monday

I hope that goes faster than the NOA1 for the I130

I called USCIS this morning. The recorded message has changed to state that it takes 28 days to receive a receipt notice. Then the message asks you to press 1 only if it has been over 28 days.

After being forwarded to an "agent", I was told it takes 30 - 45 days to get a receipt notice. I had to ask if my name was in the system. Then I asked, "The website states that at 30 days you can request action to find out why nothing has been done. Are you telling me that I have to wait 45 days?"

His reply was " I would wait two more weeks and call back."

I hope that most April filers will fall into urge to race's timeline.
