I see that many of you are still posting on the March filers thread, and thought I'd start one for April since a search didn't reveal one.

We began the AOS process when our attorney filed on 3/27/07, and docs were sent to the lockbox. They weren't signed for until 4/2, so I guess we can put ourselves in the April group. :D

Let the process begin!

3/22 Got married (civil ceremony--I'm the USC)

3/22 Took license to courts to get a certified copy of our marriage certificate

3/27 Our attorneys mailed the AOS package to the lockbox (They said they've never done one so quickly.)

4/2 Applied for Social Security card in my new married name, along with updating my drivers license and beginning to change names on all of our household bills, adding each other on to credit cards, insurance, etc.

4/3 Received receipt notice

4/9 Received my new Soc Card in the mail

4/10 My husband received his biometrics notice for 4/25

4/12 At immigration office with attorney, and they agreed to do biometrics on the spot, rather than wait until the 4/25 appt.

4/16 Received I-797 stating that case was transferred to local USCIS office to "speed up processing of I-130"

4/21/07 Received notice of I-130 interview from the local office to come in for an interview

4/26/07 Met with an immigration officer in separate interviews. All seemed to go well! We should hear back from them within a week. Our attorney said their office will receive an email on status as soon as it's available.

I can hardly wait to have the full wedding ceremony with family and friends!

Don't worry about your visa expiring... once they receive your package (which they already have) your status is changed to "AOS pending" - so you are not going to be out of status at all.

They received the package thrusday, (04/05), so you should be getting your first NOA anytime next week... (usually takes between 7 to 10 days).

Good luck !

Count me in for this thread too. I just finished filing my taxes for this year so everything is the most recent info they could possibly have.

May the games begin!

Nothing I say is legal advice. I recommend you consult a qualified immigration attorney for any questions you may have.

Why are you worried ? It has only been 8 days... and plus there were probably in "holiday" mode last week... you have aboslutely NOTHING to worry about.

Even if your visa and I-94 had expired...

I guess i should add my self in April filer. I sent my package on march 28th as u can see my timline below.
