I was wondering what documents are required when submitting the DS-230. I need to end it but i do not have my birth certificate and waht i was wondering is the Birth cert required here or at the Interview because i will have one by then. Any suggestions

Sent I-130 ---october 23rd 2006

NO1 --- November 9th 2006

RFE for marriage certificate--- Jan 03 2007

RFE sent JAN 10th 2007

NO2 Jan 28th 2007

Sent DS3020 March 14th 2007 via email

Email accepted --- March 18th 2007

Sent both I864 and DS230 April 23rd 2007

RFE For both I864 and DS230 may 10th 2007

RFE reply Sent on may 14th 2007

Case completed May 29th 2007

Medicals: October 2nd 2007

Interview: November 27th 2007 *** APROVED

Visa received November 29th 2007

POE:Detroit December 4th, 2007

Applied for SSN: December 5th, 2007 Pending

SSN Received: December 12, 2007

Green card Received: December 29,2007

I751 September 8, 2009

Biometrics October 22, 2009

I-751 Approved November 18th, 2009

Done for good!!!!!!!!

are you sending the DS-230 to the NVC for the CR-1 or to the consulate for the K-3?

I'm Sending it to the NVC

Sent I-130 ---october 23rd 2006

NO1 --- November 9th 2006

The documents etc needed to be submitted with the DS-230 are dependant on your country......see below links

Thanks for that link! It says we will need to copy the bio pages of my wife's pp. But it is in Thai. Does that have to be translated prior to sending to the NVC?

Also, on the passport, her name is written in Thai but the applications are in her english name. How should she sign the DS...in Thai (like her PP) or in English??

Hope I didn't thread-jack here...just searching for info and found this informative topic.

Glady,

You need to submit to the NVC the following ORIGINALS:

1. Birth Certificate

2. Marriage Certificate

3. Police Certificate (nation wide)

The birth certificate and the marriage certificate will be returned to you when you have your interview in Montreal. Hope that helps.

I-130 Sent : July 17, 06

NOA1 : July 27

Nov 22, file is 'pending'

Nov 28, Touched

Dec 4, APPROVED!!!! ^__^

Dec 6, NVC Case Number Assigned

Dec 18, DS-3032 & AOS bill sent

Dec 21, NVC accepted choice of agent via email

Dec 22, Sent AOS bill using James' shortcuts

Dec 25, IV Bill Generated

Jan 9, Sent I-864 using James' shortcuts

Jan 15, IV bill arrived

Jan 16, IV Bill Paid

Jan 19, IV bill processed

Jan 22, I-864 being reviewed

Jan 29, Sent DS-230 using James' shortcuts

Feb 13, CASE COMPLETED!!

Apr 13, INTERVIEW - APPROVED!!

Apr 28, Entered USA, POE Vancouver. Told that my visa stamp serves as a temporary Green Card.

I-129F Sent : Aug 20, 06

NOA1 : Aug 31, 06

Oct 23, 06, received email that case forwarded to CSC

Oct 27, 06, received email saying that case has reached CSC

Nov 22, 06, note said file received and pending

Dec 13, 06, Touched with same note as above

ABANDONING K3

I-751 Sent on Jan 28, 09 to remove conditions

Feb 1 - Check cashed

Feb 25 - Biometrics

Jun 1 - Approved! (Decision date was May 26, 09)

Now waiting for green card...

It looks like the rules may have changed. I am waitting for an answer via email after I tried

to clarify with NVC via telephone (to no avail.)

05-24-2007: NVC Completes I-130. Case Closed

06-13-2007: NVC sent I-129F case to Bogota

06-18-2007: Interview date : July 12, 2007

06-25-2007: Package 4 Received

07-12-2007: Visa approved after interview

07-16-2007: Picked up VISA at the Embassy
