Ok... some advise for those going to see Dr. Chau in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

1. Get an appointment in the morning or early afternoon.

2. Be ready to run all over town to get your xray and bloodwork done. You have to return to the doctor's office with your xray before you leave.

3. Know that you have to go see this doctor twice. Once for the exam and once for the results of the test. He did not want to sent the results to me by courier.

My appointment was at 2:30 pm . It was icy on the highway, but I still got there by 2:00. After sitting in the waiting room for an hour I was called in. I sat in an exam room for another 30 minutes. The exam and questions took about 5 minutes. I was then sent off accross town to get an xray and bloodwork done at two different offices in downtown Saskatoon. I was told to return to the office with the xray. The xray was quick but the technician for the bloodwork was busy on the phone talking to someone about moving out of his apartment.... I waited for 30 minutes for him to get off the phone. By the time I had driven across town back to the doctors office it was 5:02 and the office was closed. I ended up driving home to Moose Jaw with the xray. I called the office the next day to find out what to do with it. The receptionist suggested I drive 3 hours to drop it off to her. After a heated discussion we decided that I would courier it. I am sending it today. After they get it I still have to make an appointment to drive back up there to get the results.

Nothing in this process is easy!

Arggggggg!! Not good news. I have me and 3 kids to get medicals there!

I knew about the 2 visit rule. What did the blood work cost you? She gave me a range.

Bloodwork cost $35 but I only had to have HIV and Syphilis tests. I had titre tests for everything else done by my doctor. Xray cost $50. Good luck !

Ah yes i remember all of that....When i went it was warm out so did not have to worry about icey roads, but did have to take two days off of work..

How long is the time between the two visits for Dr. Chau?

Just drove Regina to S'toon yesterday....over $100 in gas...... 2 visits to the Dr. is going to add up.
