I know I posted last week about this (In another forum) - but to be honest I couldn't find a form for a NON USC passport renewal. Now, I went and checked on all the Uk web sites and they refered me to the consulate in PA. I STILL couldn't find a form to fill in for my passport renewal.

I am a permanent resident but still UK citizen. UK won't deal with my passport and I can't find the right form to renew my passport - PLease help!

I want to go on holiday in AUgust to the Carribean so want to get it done now. In case it takes longer thna anticipated.

If anyone can reply to my post and send me the right for I would be really happy!

Thanks again :)

We have to do the same thing for Claudeth. All we have to do is go to her country's embassy and they will renew it. Hopefully it is the say for you. Good luck

Now, I'm gonna add insult to injury through lack of sympathy.

To renew a Canuck passport, I have to fork out C$97 (including a C$25 fee for "consular services"--when I actually have to mail/courier the package to Ottawa or Gatineau as NO Canadian embassy/High-Commission/consulate processes passport apps!), currently about US$80, not including mail/courier fees. Even worse, a Canadian passport is valid for only 5 years--where you get 10 on your new Brit passport.

IMO, you're getting a bargain (with £-US$ exchange rates)!

(admittedly, I now have a way of avoidance of such renewal, being a dual Canuck-Yank--but on behalf of the non-dual Canucks on VJ)

I guess the same way Canada justifies the "Consular Services" fee, even if the applicant downloads the PPT-140 form from Passports Canada website (and never even went within 500 m of the consulate/embassy).

I recently got a new passport, I went to Washingto DC to do the name change, as I got married, what a pleasant experience it all was, I got to the british embassy, to be told by a helpful lady that it works out cheaper to have a new passport than to do the name change, so thats what I did.

It was also pleasant to hear all the british accents,,,,saying things like,,,,you alright mate? or Hiya! :D

Are they issuing biometric passports in DC now? All new UK passports are supposed to have a biometric chip in them; if you're not there how do they collect the data?
