Hi,

I called the Paris Embassy this morning to get status info on my I-130 and they said they had received it from Rome already and my husbands interview is set for April 24. Our original interview date was January 31. It's not as soon as I would have wished but at least the limbo is over and we can restart making plans again.

I hope the rest of you will soon get info on your I-130's and new interview dates soon.

Hi Sheigh!

I'm glad to hear that you got your new interview date and I hope everything will be back on track!

Who did you talk to at the embassy, or what department? Did you pay the 14,5 euros fee? Please let me know. I want to call them and ask about my petition but I don't who will be able to answer me.

Thank you for your help!!!

Eric

My husband just got his new interview date -- April 11! His original date was March 28, so in the end the wait for us will not be that much longer. (I'm still mad about the handling of Adam Walsh+DCF!!)

Do you know when they sent your I-130 to your local USCIS? I got a notice yesterday that my embassy had sent ours to be re-approved. I was just wondering what kind of a time line are we talking about. A week? Two weeks? I know they won't be the same for every embassy, but it would help to have an idea on how long it took once they sent it.

Information for Applicants with pending petitions filed at U.S. Embassy Paris since July 27, 2006.

This procedural change may result in a processing delay for some applicants, including those who filed a petition at the Embassy since July 27, 2006. Petitions that are still pending and were filed at the U.S. Embassy in Paris since this date must be forwarded to USCIS for review of compliance with the Adam Walsh Act. Petitions found to be in compliance with the Adam Walsh Act will be returned to the U.S. Embassy in Paris. The U.S. Embassy in Paris will then notify the beneficiary and schedule a new interview appointment. There is no need to file a new petition or pay petition fees again. Again, the Department of State recognizes and sincerely regrets the inconvenience this may cause

No, when I inquired as to if and when the petition had been sent out, they replied that they had no info. The most recent reply I got from them (by fax) was sent last Thurs, saying they had no idea about anything. Then, Sat morning (French time) my husband got his letter. If you're working through Paris, I would suggest faxing them; they always answer pretty quickly -- though often without really saying much....

Thanks for the information, it helps. I wish our embassy had done the same by sending the forms out to the local USCIS when yours did. I'm hoping ours might be a little faster. The USCIS office in Honduras is close to the Embassy here in Nicaragua. Both offices are small and don't deal with a lot of people, so I'm hoping for a quick turn-around.

As bad as it is, I feel we are all lucky. No, we didn't see the Adam Walsh thing coming, it blinded sided us. The Embassies could have been told to sent the Petitions to the States for re-approval. Just think of the time that would have taken and how long it would have been for us to get our final interview if that had happened? And, if we had waited to file for a DCF, like if we went in today to the Embassy.and wanted to file a DCF, I don't know about your Embassy, but the one here in Nicaragua is not accepting any new I-130 Petitions. I truly feel we are all very luckily, it could be a lot worse. For me, I think the whole process, from start to finish, is only going to take a couple of months. That is not bad at all.

Congratulations! Good luck, and again, thanks for your help
