Help please,lost NOA2

Hi, can anyone tell me how to go about AOS if I have lost the NOA2 document?? Thanks!!!

Order a replacement NOA2 document using form I-824 Fee $200

If you have not filed for AOS then wait until you have the replacement.

If you already sent the AOS packet, you should get an RFE for the NOA2, return the RFE with copy of NOA from the I-824, along with a note indicating it was misplaced and you ordered a replacement, and should have it by the time of the interview to show to the interviewing officer.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know how long that usually takes, we wanted to send out the AOS this week. Also in form I-824 it says to attach copy of NOA2, which I dont have either.

If you want to take a chance, I've heard of people sending a copy of the approval email when they've lost the hard copy. But there's a possibility you might get an RFE for the hard copy.

Ah, well then it's too late now. You could have gotten email updates of the progress of your case by registering your case number at uscis.gov.

Sounds like you'll have to get the replacement NOA2 then.

I have read some members mentioning that it can take several weeks to get the replacement NOA2, Odd you would think they could pull the info up, then print and send.

I registered on the USCIS website and checked the status of my case. It saus that it was approved and the NOA2 was sent out, do you think that would work???

No ofcourse they can't just print it out.....that would be too easy. Beurocracy seems to be real heavy in the US, but it shares the similar traits of incompetence as governments institutions in other countries.

Me and my wife-to-be opted for the K-1. Should have gone with the IR-1 instead and make it race the K-3 through the system....

Too late for that now, now I just hope that the CSC feels like cleaning up their desks sometime before the spring.

Won't work, they want a copy of the actual NOA2 form that was sent in the mail.

People have sent it before and it has been accepted, but that doesn't mean that you can always get away with it.
