K3 visa approved!!!

I went for my interview at the Vancouver Consulate last Monday ( Feb. 27 ) with my husband and got my visa application approved. I am moving on Wednesdy!!!

One advice I can give is to make sure you have all the requirements ready and certified true copy (divorce decrees, birth certificates...).Check if your police clearances are still valid. The officer who interviewed me there was really strict about the documents.There were four of us who applied for visa that day, I was the only one who were there for K3. He didn't give the two other applicants visa because of the certified true copy documents that were lacking. He really looked at each page and inspected if there is a dry seal on the certified copies I submitted. He also did not ask for the Affidavit of Support. Only for those documents that were in the checklist and the medical.

Here are the questions that were asked to me....

1. How did we meet?

2. When did we got married?

3. How many times did I visit him in the US?

4. What does my husband do for a living?

Then the Officer called him to the window and started to ask him questios, too...like

1. How did we meet?

2. Why did he chose me? ( We met in a dating website )

3. If he already met my family?

4. How many sibling do I have?

Then he gave suggestions about my vaccinations.

He's really nice all in all but strict on documents.

3/24/11 Received 10 year Green Card in the mail - Done. Feels good :-) 'till we do this again for US Citizenship.

12/5/11 mailed packet for Naturalization

12/9/11 was received by USCIS.

4/6/12 received letter for fingerprint appn.

4/23/12 9am fingerprint appointment - done :-)

4/30/12 Recieved Letter for Interview - Sche. 5/31

5/31/12 Interview & Testing

5/31/12 Testing Approved - Waiting for next step

6/21/12 Rcvd email, placed application in the oath sched. que :-)

6/25/12 Rcvd letter - Oath Ceremony is on 7/11/12 @ 9:15am :-)

Congrats!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
