Thy never looked at my xray when i entered the US. I rolled it up and it survived the trip in my hand luggage just fine, it now sits on my floor waiting to be put away. Just make sure you have your sealed brown envelope that you received with your visa, its all your paperwork from your K1 visa and your medical results.

Good luck

Hey there

Can anyone tell me what i do with my XRAY can i pack it or do i need to hand carry it with the visa. I fly to NY next week to be with my boy

On one of the bits of paper I got from the Embassy they said it could be put into the checked baggage, it just had to be available if requested at POE.

It's on the white form headed Important Information which came with your visa. :D

My white form had nothing on it about x-rays being available at POE. All it told me was that I had 6 months to enter the USA....

That doesn't come as a surprise. It does seem that there are various versions of most of the forms and it is pot luck which one we get. The I-864 we got was the one requiring it to be signed in front of a notary and produce 3 years tax returns, even though that had changed a short time before.

Good job I read this I guess. I was going to pack my x-ray in checked luggage. Although, has anyone ever been asked to show it at POE?

No.

OK, Nobody who has ever posted.

In 1999 when I got my GC approval at Montreal, I carried the X-ray into the PFI (where I handed over the brown envelope and got a temporary 1-year stamp on my passport) and binned it just before entering airline security.

(note: those going through Dublin can also bin it after going through the PFI and before security).

Considering how I have never been told to bring my x-ray as hand luggage, nor has anyone who has ever posted been asked for it, AND considering how big and bulky the damn thing is, I reckon I'll pack it as checked baggage. I'm going to have enough hand luggage as it is.

Technically, x rays can only be read by people who are experienced in reading them - ie. radiologists. A radiologist read your x-ray and wrote a report and that report is in the sealed brown envelope. There is no point in carrying the xray in hand luggage - pack it in your checked baggage. No one is going to request to see it - it's yours because you purchased it as part of your medical exam. As long as immigration has the report from the radiologist they will be happy. The x-ray is your souvenir:-).

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Carry it with you in your hand luggage, then put it in your closet to gather dust when you arrive in the US.
