I got a letter today =0(

Well most of you know that I filed for a K3 for my Hubby. Today I got a letter regarding the I-129F basically saying they recived a status inquery and that our application was still processing BUT THAT THEY HAVE TO PREFORM ADDITIONAL REVIEW OF THIS CASE and that Id have to wait 6 more months.And also that if I did not hear any thing within six months to call them up. Does it mean that they are still processing petitions and my receipt is not until July 18 and they are barely working April? Or does it mean that they have seen my application and for some reason they have to keep reviewing the case for I dont know what? I dont get it what is additional review? Is this background checks or what I dont know . Has any one gotten this type of letter before? Does additinal review means that I have to wait 6 whole months more or that i could get approved any time in the next 6 months? Did I get this genereci letter because my NOA1 is out of the current processing time frame when I made the inquery? Also does that mean that my I-130 will have the same thing or is there a chance that it will be approved even if the I-129F is in additinal review.? what exactly is additional review???? Sorry for all the questions im just wreck right now. Is it because he was excluded last time he tried to come visit me and he was exluded? Has any one that been excluded had this type of letter? Please help.

Oh Dip Sticks, I'm sorry that you didn't get good news. I was really hoping that the letter you were waiting for would be an approval!!

It sounds like you are in administrative review - which unfortunately I am not very familiar with.

I'm so sorry I can't be of more help. Hopefully someone else will see this soon!

Sorry about the bad news. I am afraid additional review, further processing etc means administrative review which can take from 2 weeks to 6 months. You just needs to hold in there. I feel it would not take such a long time and would get approved soon. I-130 and I-129F are done at different center and through different processes. Not necessarily that I-129F has been put under review and I -130 can not get approved. You just need to hang in there

Wow that really sucks !! I personally haven't had much exposure to AR.

But hang in there - you have to be strong. There is a light at the end of this Visa tunnel ... sometimes you just have to focus to see the light.

I am soooo sorry girl....What has your congressman said?? I have never heard of AR done here.....It usually happens at the emabssy.....They take fingerprints and then clear the person for Visa issuance

I am sorry to hear this. Hope you hear the good news as soon as possible. Please have your Congressman make an inquiry. Sometimes, Congressman's office can get more precise reply than us.

If you post the exact wording of the letter we can better help you.

From the information you have provided, it appears to be Administrative Review.

They can do AR at any time you are in the processing. If they have pulled their case now it may be in detailed AR and a handful of cases are pulled at this level and reviewed. Name checks are done at all stages and in the final stages at the embassy level are the fingerprints and full set if you have had a name hit in any of the many data bases.

Thanks for the info...Dipstick maybe is better at this point........Mines happened right before my hubby was to arrive that really hurt!! I'm loosing it and the process just keeps changing.....Only God knows girl and I hope having this resolved at this stage will speed things up in the future!!

Does anyone know how long it take for the 10 finger prints to come back when taken at the embassy??

Well after speaking to the lawyer she called USCIS and she said they were of no help. She wonders why she has not gotten any piece of email regarding only of our petitions since we got the NOA1's for both petitions. So she said she wrote a letter and will send it today to Chicago and request that she gets every piece of undelivered mail that we she has not received. At any rate I don’t think it will make a major difference because I think the letter that I got yesterday was the one that was returned undeliverable. Well I said is there a way to know for sure that we are in AR and if so for what? As I read some place that if we find out that we are in AR that we should try to inquiry the reason for it. She attempted to find out today but she basically said that her call got no answer. After the call she decided to send a letter to Chicago directly. Now I really want to know if we are in AR or not. I wonder if this delay was caused because my husband was excluded. The lawyer said it could be the case. Has any one been in my situation before? Has exclusion caused a delay in your approval or "additional review"? Also do you think my congressman can help me find this out or should I wait as the lawyer suggested for the 6 months from the NOA1 dated to be complete in Jan? Is it too soon to do the congressional inquiry? The lawyer said this would probably piss them off and put the application on the bottom of the pile?
