I do think people are used but I wouldnt tell them because its not my business and they most likely wouldnt believe me anyway. It would only cause friction between me and the other person. Sometimes people need to wake up on their own.

Now as to reposting this poll again after it was locked, great idea. There are some people here that see this as an oppertunity to sling mud. This is a discussion. If you don't want to participate then you don't have too, but please don't use it as an oppertunity to act like a child. There are plenty of threads on VJ to suit everyones tastes. Several people here would like to have a discussion on this topic and if we can talk about terrorism, abortion, gay rights, then we can talk about this.

I am really upset the other thread was locked. The same thing happened to one of my threads not so long ago for no apparent reason and it happened along the same lines as the previous version of this thread.

I have (do) thought someone was being used for a GC... I have not voiced my opinion on that because I don't know them well enough...

If I thought a good friend/family member was being used for a GC I would deff tell them and why I thought so.

Yeah I'm pretty annoyed that it got locked too... just because someone came in and decided to spew nonsense then I assume reported the thread to Ewok cause she got her feelings hurt. If you don't want to partake in this discussion then don't. No one is forcing anyone to talk about something they don't want to. Please do not come in here to stir things up. Thanks!

ps. I definitely have suspicions about people being used for GC. Like VP said I wouldn't open my mouth unless it was a close friend and I knew for sure she was being used. I would definitely tell a friend to "be careful"

I don't know anyone well enough to be able to tell, but personally if someone thought that I myself was being used I'd want to know their opinion.

Tons of my acquaintenances (my Gawd how hard is THAT word to spell???) knew my ex was cheating on me every night and not one told me until he left. Then they all were like linin' up to say "you know...I didn't want to upset you BUT................................".

DUH.....dontcha think I'm STILL upset? I coulda stopped the bleeding years ago had ya mentioned it!!

I have (what I thought was) a good friend who I (and my husband) am convinced is being scammed. I was so afraid for her that I told her my thoughts and those of my husband. Her (now) husband is also from Egypt. Well she #1 didn't believe me and #2 got pissed because I said something. I know now that I should just keep that to myself. I would only warn a good friend or family member. Anyone else I figure it's none of my business. Most ppl don't want to believe the worst so they just shoot the messenger. I hope to God I am wrong about my "friend's" husband.

LOL, everyone always pretended to like my ex. When I left him they all said "thank god!"

I've known someone who was used, and I know someone who used someone else, and I also have a feeling that someone is being used, but she has had so many things happen and she still doesn't realize that he might be using her. But I will not put my nose into things like that. I can only offer support and some good advice. Wether or not they take it, is up to them.

That's a good point moody- I would be scared that even if it was my best friend she would not believe anything I said and would stop talking to me. Some women are very defensive and blind and don't want to hear something that might shatter their "perfect marriage".

You could be right. I always wonder if people who are in the end used for a GC would tell anyone on VJ. Probably not would be my guess. I wonder if in a few years down the road we will find out if someone was being used or if they will just dissapear.
