Your post is rather scant of detail, but from what you've shared passport stamps simply indicate that you were in the same country of your fiancé, and time-dated and marked photographs are not a good form of evidence because so often they can be manipulated. Do you not have the itinerary of your visit, emails indicated the dates and times, plane tickets, hotel receipts, stubs to attractions you visited to better support your contention that you've met?

Did they deny you or ask for more information? The way the usually do it is ask for more information regarding your meeting your fiance. If they denied you I think (don't hold me to this) that you can ask that your case be reopened. Can you give us some more information? When did you meet and when did you file?

For clarification, did you file a K-1 Fiance petition or a K-3 Spouse petition?

You write of a ceremony. Was it ceremonial or official?

The evidence you have, did you submit it in support of the petition?

Any further information would be helpful to understand your circumstance, thus the board may be able to help. Please advise.

It would help to know what country you were denied. There are sure to be more responses from people familiar with your consulate.

Christine, I think - if they filed for a K-1, that it doesn't matter where the fiance is from, as the case apparently has been denied by USCIS. If so, what matters is whether they were able to meet the requirements and support the petition with adequate evidence of such, and, of course, send out the appropriate forms and documents.

OP: Have you gotten an RFE asking for evidence (or more) evidence of having met within the last 2 years?

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Spot on. I'm wondering if this is a denial or RFE. Big difference.

The OP said denial.

My curiosity is which petition the OP submitted.

Any speculation beyond these facts being revealed, are just that, speculation.

OP, can you indulge us with more information? I see you monitoring responses.

I filled the k-1 and i left the country to visit family what i am starting to realize by ur helpful comments is that when the sent me the rfe i didnt send enough evidence at all so when they sent me a letter saying i was denied the specific thing they said was that i didnt met her in the last 2 years . when i called the service center a nice immigration officer gave me the fax number to the officer who handled my case so i was able to communicate with him and ask what more was needed. all in all i think i just didnt send enough evidence to show that i had met her in the last two years so they denyed me.

How were you informed of the denial was it e-mailed to you, snail letter, posted on the CSC site? I don’t understand. When did you file and what stage was you in? Had you received your NOA-1 yet? Please till us more.

So, were you denied or did you get an RFE?

If the evidence was not adequate, send in more compelling evidence.

How did they advise you of the status of your case?
