I can't seem to get to the bottom of what's in Packet 3 and 4 that the Embassy send you. Would like to know so I can prepare and get everything back as quick as possible.

Anybody know? Also, I have looked in all the download/forms for an OF-169 which apparently IR1/CR1 holders have to fill in. I can't find it anywhere - anyone know what this form is??

Our IR1/CR1 seemed to approved really quick - 60 days odd - and everything is moving through the system nicely - getting really excited. Now we just do some bills, submit the DS-230 and then it goes to London!:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

englishamericanvisa,

For immigrant visa applicants the old 'packet' terminology is getting stretched very thin, because some of the visa application materials are now coming from the NVC before the case even gets to the consulate.

Check the Department of State web site, the pages for both the NVC and the appropriate counsulate, to find out what comes from each.

OF-169, now designated DS-2001, is an instructional form that can vary in some of the details from consulate to consulate. In general it contains a checklist of the items that need to be submitted as part of the visa application and a signed statement that all such items have been obtained and the visa applicant is ready to be interviewed.

You will only receive one packet from the consulate as the other is now a part of the NVC process. There is also no need for you to notify consulate that you are ready for an interview as either the NVC or the consulate now schedules the interview once case is complete at NVC. In Englands case, the consulate schedules the interview and you will receive an interview packet with the interview date, a generic checklist of documents to bring to the interview (some of which you wont need as they have already been submitted to NVC), medical and police clearance information and DS-230 part II (which you wont sign until the interview but must be completed).

Click on the appropriate link for what is required at NVC. If the top link does not apply to the country of the applicant/beneficiary, then you are only required to submit part I along with a photocopy of the biographics page of the passport

Instructions for Immigrant Visa Applicants (applying in Albania, Canada, Lebanon, Philippines, Turkey, United Arab Emirates or on the continent of Africa)

When one is required to submit both parts 1 & II and all documents listed in the above link, the NVC reviews all documents and schedules the interview. Part 1 should only be signed not part II as that has to be signed at the interview stage in front of the conof.

Instructions for Immigrant Visa Applicants (NOT applying in Albania, Canada, Lebanon, Philippines, Turkey, United Arab Emirates or on the continent of Africa)

When one is only required to submit DS-230 part 1 and a copy of the biographics page of the passport, the consulate will schedule the interview.
