The letter below is from a template that another well known VJer provided me. I can not take credit for it. I feel it was the difference in getting my approval moving that I will share it with our VJers needing approval.

I will definetely be voted for my congressman again. He was very responsive to me. Even wrote me a letter explaining what he was doing and would be in touch with when they received their response.

He sent the inquiry to USCIS on 8-21 and I received approval 8-24. I don't believe it is coincidence.

I also attached Uling's spreadsheet showing the random approval dates to illustrate the point further.

Dear Congressman XXXXXX:

I am writing to request that you inquire the California Service Center (CSC) in regards to their procedures when approving I-129F petitions (petition for fiancée visa). I also would like information regarding my specific case, as I am unable to obtain any information from USCIS regarding this matter.

I filed an I-129F petition with CSC on 29 March 2006 (attachment 1) on behalf of my Fiancée, NAME, a resident citizen of the South Korea. We meet all the requirements for a fiancée visa. We have met in person within the last 2 years; we are both of age to be married and are eligible to be married.

In May of 2006 we were informed that all fiancée petitions were on hold pending decision on how to proceed with the new law regarding International Marriage Broker (attachment 2). On 10 July 2006 I received a Request for further information (RFE) (attachment 3). I immediately returned the form and CSC acknowledged receipt on 19 July 2006 (attachment 4).

On 21 July 2006 CSC beginning sending petition approvals. These approvals were on petitions that dated from March 3, 2006 to June 6 2006. Policy at CSC had been to process all petitions in order based on their NOA dates. Since beginning approvals after IMBRA it appears that this is not the case.

I would appreciate answers to the following questions.

1. What policy is CSC now using to determine priority in processing I-129F and why are they approving petitions in seemingly random manner?

2. What is the exact status of my case and when can I expect approval?

Thank you for your assistance

XXXXXXX

Good luck and hope we keep a 1000% batting average with this letter.

It's great to see that through VJ you were able to gather info to send with the request - not only in terms of what to do and who to ask for help, but also the timelines from other people going through the same service center.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

Hopefully others can benefit from this, as you did.

A lack of awareness in the minds of legislators, is exactly why CSC continues to screw people.

When word gets out, things will shake up in CSC. In particular, fire the a$$hole director. Loser.

Good post texasseoul.

Good post texasseoul.

Great letter. It is however somewhat outdated now and nees a tiny bit of updating as approvals are no longer going by IMBRA rfe dates and have not for 2 weeks now and are going "basically" in order of noa1. So, for the sake of your own case and the rest of us it would be better just to complain and ask about why are they being so slow and for instance why vermont is so fast (1 onth approvals now).
