My K-1 application is on the way to the embassy in Bogota and my fiance has looked every where for her vaccination records but cannot find them. She then checked the public records in her city in Manizales but they explained since it's 30 years they no longer have them. Now what? Does she get all new shots? I think she should consult a doctor to see what he may advise. I hate like heck going to Bogota only to get rejected over lost shot proof. any ideas?

Thanks

You can not be denied a K-1 because you don't have your immunization records. Being vaccinated is not a requirement to obtaining a nonimmigrant visa. That said the FAM recommends that K-1 beneficiaries get vaccinated before they apply for entry at POE. So don't worry so much, but try to find the vaccination records, but know that you can't be denied a K-1 because you don't have them.

9 FAM 40.11 N7.5 Vaccination Requirement for

Fiance(e)

(TL:VISA-189; 04-22-1999)

Fiance(e) visa applicants, as nonimmigrant visa applicants, technically are

not subject to the INA 212(a)(1)(A)(ii) vaccination requirement. However,

the Department and INS have agreed that medical exams for fiance(e) visa

applicants should include the vaccination assessment as a matter of

expediency. Every effort should be made, therefore, to encourage fiance(e)

visa applicants to meet the vaccination requirements before admission to the

United States. Nevertheless, consular officers should not refuse K-visa

applicants for refusing to meet the vaccination requirements. [see 9 FAM

41.82 Notes.]

I also didn't have my records. I got a titres test done at a regular doctors and brought those results to my medical. I was lucky and had met the requirements, if I hadn't I would've had the required shots at the regular doctors for free instead of at the medical for $.
