I'm reading through the CR-1/IR-1 guide:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...page=i130guide1

Just trying to make sure we are ready when the interview is scheduled. The guide suggests you will have to bring a list of documents with you. The only ones that would create a traffic jam could be:

Official Copy of Marriage License (take about two weeks to get and send)

Police Certificate (apparently takes about a month and a half to get)

However, we're already sending these documents to the NVC, who from what I understand is the same entity that will assign us an interview date. It doesn't make sense to me that she would need to bring these two documents with her if they'll already have them.

So among the documents requested by the consulate (in this case Moscow), are the previously mentioned documents really requested?

Here's the best information I have to date to answer this question:

Moscow is considered an Appointment Post, which means the NVC will collect a list of documents that would normally be requested for the interview. These documents will then be forwarded to the Consulate when NVC arranges your appointment.

Paraphrased from:

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3734.html

This seems to imply you won't have to bring any documents they collect, but it would be nice to have some confirmation from someone who's been through an Appointment Post.
