I'm so sorry for your bad day. After reading your post, I couldn't help but think if Nigeria was the hot subject after the latest terrorist attempt on the flight last week. The administration has called for accountability on all levels so maybe that was the real factor?

I am really sorry to hear that Nwanyionma. Maybe you can consider both parents writing a letter to the consulate explaining why they have not met and their support for your relationship. Thats all i can think of right now.

Also, just wondering, have you visited Nigeria since your relationship began?

Please dont loose up.

I am so sorry sweetie....I was wondering the same thing "Urch" asked. Have you visited Nigeria? If so, why didn't you meet his parents when you were there? My prayers go out to you. This journey is tough enough and now this. God is STILL in control and delay is not denial. God has the final say. So after you cry, wipe your tears and trust God to lead and guide you with clear direction. God knows your heart and he as the ability to change any denial to approval and I believe He will do it for you and your fiance.

Abundant Blessings,

Amarachi's Wife

Really sorry for your news, they will grant a second interview if there's additional proof or evidence to be submitted at that time. I'm guessing the denial is for lack of a visit to his home as well, I would suggest taking a trip there, then rescheduling a new interview, or possibly try to schedule an interview while you're there if it's at all possible.

Best of luck to you.

During your visit, pay one to the consulate there as well but do an internet search for the congressman in your county in your state to find out who he/she is and solicit for their help in keeping the petition in nigeria then you can request for another interview with the consulate now with a letter from your dad who is currently in nigeria and make sure you take pictures of him and your fiance to show them. Hope that works

Since your dad is in Nigeria have your husband go meet him and also obtain an affidavit saying he approves of the union. I had my in laws do one for my marriage. We had a lawyer draw it up and had it notarized. They also signed our marriage certificate. Hope this helps!

Unless Lagos said they want a second interview during the original one they can be pretty hard headed about sending the petition back to USCIS. Vermont is more apt to review the petition so you have time to prepare for a rebuttal. CSC likes to declare them dead and make you start all over again. I think the plane idiot will cause Nigeria to take a close look at all petitions to the US even if he wasn't traveling on a K1. Make sure you get pictures with his family while you are there.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Excuse my ignorance, but how old are you and your fiance if Im not being too personal where they would need to ask if you guys met each others parents? Or is a cultural norm?

Look into getting married and meet his parents while you are there. File CR1 instead. Good luck.

I am so sorry about your news. I advise you to contact your Senator ASAP. Also to my understanding, part of the requirements for the Fiance Visa is that you must have seen each other at least once during the past 2 years. You mentioned that you have not visited since 1985. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding, but are you saying that you have not seen your Fiance since 1985?!?!?

Hold your head up, and all the best!

ALL things work TOGETHER for GOOD!
