It is always possible to reach Jose if he's at work and if he's home, but when he's driving somewhere, or grocery shopping, or anywhere else, should he have his cell phone on at all times just in case something happens, like to his infant Pablo, for example, or any other emergency and he has to be contacted?

they were out of reach. but times are different now. specially if you live in a place where you don't know people and if you need help, you need your spouse.

I found this poll difficult to answer because my feeling is yes, but in reality this is not always possible. I can't answer my phone while I'm teaching, so I set it on silent and check it during my breaks to see if the daycare has tried to contact me. Thankfully, this has never happened.

My husband is often unreachable, sometimes for days at a time, becuase he lives in a third-world country and they have third-world phone connections, and he has to travel to out-of-the-way villages for his work where there isn't even internet connection. If there was an emergency, he might not know about it for days.

maybe it's his country's connection, in my third-world country the phone connections are perfect.
