I wanted to let people know that I filed my K1 in September (NOA1 Sept. 17 2009) and that yesterday I received my NOA2. I was shocked by how fast it was. I would update my timeline but I can't figure out how to do it. Unfortunately my fiance developed cold feet last week and left me before this even happened. I am planning to talk with him this week to just make sure things are really over. If so, what needs to happen to cancel the application? My thought is that once they send him the paperwork and he does not fill it out and return it that the process will just die, but if there is a more official way I should handle this please let me know. But please, if you have nothing nice to say, don't post. I saw last week how some people harassed a woman on here who was asking for help in trying to cancel her fiance's interview and their application because he too got cold feet. I am in a lot of pain right now and very very sad, so if you don't have anything nice or helpful to say please spare me from it. Thank you in advance.

Hi there. I read your post and I feel sorry for what happened. Even though I don't know you it bothers me. I hope that you can talk things over. I heard that if you don't follow up the process of your petition or submit them the docs they need from you, they will think that your not interested anymore that's what I know. About cancellation I'm not really sure. But if your partner is not really interested anymore find ways to cancel it or it might affect your petition the next time you will apply for it. I hope this helps you a little. Please if there's anything I can do for you let me know. I will pray for you. Take care of yourself.

Sorry that things aren't working out for you guys.

As for your timeline, you can update it here: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/intro.php

In regards to "cancelling the application," One option would simply be to let the petition "die." An approved I-129F petition (NOA2) is valid for four months. Your fiance (or ex-fiance, as the case may unfortunately be) cannot interview and receive a visa without an I-134 Affidavit of Support from you. If you simply decline to provide this, the NOA2 will expire.

If you wish to do something more formal, my suggestion would be to write a letter to the service center that processed your I-129F. Reference the receipt number and beneficiary's name and date of birth, and state that you wish to withdraw the referenced Petition for Alien Fiance. Mail or fax a copy of the letter to the appropriate embassy.

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

I'm sorry to hear also, I too hope he reconsiders, but if not, it's best, even though it's painful now, that it happened now. The pain and suffering could be much worse if you two get married, have children and then decide to "have cold feet" I would wait to cancel the process and let things settle down.

Ultimately, you two make the last decision. However, problems arise between couples and unfortunately, during hard times is when we choose to make important decisions. In other words, if you two had a disagreement, Now is the WORST time ever to make such a decision. Makesure it's really over before you withdraw when it's too late. This k-1 process is time consuming, pricey and most of all stressful due to waiting times. So I suggest you give it atleast a week before you actually withdraw. May the Lord be with you.

I am so sorry you are going through this.

Kjenkins85 is right. Sometimes couples will have a problem, think they are not going to be together, but then change their minds. Don't make a decision on this while you are so upset. You want to make a decision when you are thinking straight - not based on emotions at the time. It would be a shame if you two worked things out, then the cancellation caused you to have to start over and possibly be denied because of the initial cancellation.

I hope things work out for you. But, if not, keep the faith.

You are in my prayers.

Kathy
