Red flags or things that might throw a wrench

Reading these posts I have discovered there seems to be some things I wouldn't have thought of that might make it more difficult to get a visa, such as being a woman trying to bring a man into the country, a large age difference between you and your fiance/fiancee, having brought or filed for another immigrant fiance/fiancee or spouse in the past, etc. What other kinds of things make Consular Officers go, "hmmmm"?

lack of relationship evidence

lack of knowledge regarding SO, their work, thier family, their past

lack of common language/ability to communicate clearly

it's not. The difficulty arises if the union is not within the social norms of the culture. This seems to come up in cases where much older women petition for much younger men.

You mean like multiple denials of other visas followed shortly by a fiance visa?

No, just anything I wouldn't have thought of. We know they look at income and how well you know your intended but what things do they consider that you might not have?

I would think it would be a wrong answer to a question that could come from left field. I would just make sure that your clear on every aspect of your relationship, and that you know everything about each other. For the most part it's a pretty straight forward process from what I read. It all comes down to the strength of the relationship and the proof. The USCIS lists what you need to comply with. Just follow what they say and don't choke in the interview. Good luck!!! I'm sure the relationship is sincere so you shouldn't have much to worry about.

Wearing the same color clothes in each photo together. I brought 5 sets of the same color clothes (carhart) The consulate officer said we were together only 2 days when the truth is we were together just over two weeks.

I learned that one! change color clothes when being photoed together then presented at time of interview

Very useful. Only #8 would apply to us. I only started collecting evidence after the engagement because, well,I never thought I'd ever need the millions of used plane tickets I threw away, or the e-mails I deleted because of limitted space.
