I have had a little bit of information overload these past few weeks on things I should do and think of while filling out the I-129F and it's supporting documents. However I will have everything done, my fiancee will have her photos and G-325a sent to me, and our documents will be sent this Friday to the Vermont Service center. Am I approved yet? ; )

Sent ours in yesterday to the VSC as well. Goodluck on your journey! Also I know this is way down the line but does anyone know why you have to send your fiancee the duplicate copy of the 129F for the interview? what exactly do they do with it?

It's just a good idea to have it at the interview (per the consulate; I'd ask around on your region specific forum) along with any other info you might have of your ongoing relationship after you send off the I-129F (any future flights, pictures, chats online, phone records, etc).

Good luck guys!! I've been waiting 6 weeks already (and that's not long according to standards), but it's killing me, grr!

I got delivery confirmation from USPS on Monday but I have not received an email saying anything about the NOA1 from the VSC. Is this normal? I see in many signatures something like:

Day 1: sent

Day 2: delivered

Day 3: NOA1

Day 7: NOA1 hard copy

I am probably worrying too much, but the fact I have not even gotten an email yet makes me concerned.

You won't get an email for NOA1. The only way you will get an email on updates is if you go into USCIS and set your account to send you info via email. You can't do that until you have your NOA1 and set up your account.

Hi!

I filed last month... We never got an email confirming receipt. We saw the check was cashed (which means the file was complete enough for them to accept it - if something major is missing, they return the whole file). On the back of the check, you can see your 13 digit case number (VSC starts with EAC and CSC starts with WACxxxxxxxxxx). Once you have your case number, you can log on to the USCIS website and see your case status, and create an account, to see case updates (or "touches" in VJ talk). You can then register for email or text case updates. They will only send you these in case of RFE or approval (not touches).

Some banks let you upload the image of your check, or will send you your cashed check. If its not the case, you have to wait for the NOA1 hard copy to arrive by regular mail to get your case number.

Good luck!!

Thanks for the replies, I'll wait a couple more days then before I truly get concerned  The check hasn't been cashed yet, but it usually takes a day or two to show up in my account anyway.

Yeah, I wouldnt worry at all!

We got the NOA1 the day after they received the file (but only found out 4-5 days later).

They typically cash the check 1-2 days after your NOA1.

I was barely able to read the number on my check and I had to turn my head sideways to read it since my bank wouldn't let me download or rotate the image. But registering didn't tell me anything new except that it was accepted and is now in "Initial Review" - nothing explicit about NOA1.

Any other October filers or soon to be October filers out there? We can't possibly only have two.

I'm sure there are a few more coming. Also got my NOA1 Hard copy yesterday with a Notice date of 10/07/2009 on it. Registered with the uscis and signed up for case updates, I wonder if it will be useful.
