Well, I've searched all over and can't find another thread for this (only for CSC). If there is already one specific for Vermont - point me to it!

I mailed in my I-129F on August 2, they cashed the check on the 4th and I received our NOA1. Now we wait...

We are so excited! My GF works in China, and I am flying to see her again in Oct. Last time we met up was to visit some of her family in Ireland. It was a nice excuse to see the Emerald Isle, anyway.

We are hoping for an interview during her winter break from teaching, when she can fly to Manila (Jan. to first half of Feb.).

You beat me to the punch! I didn't want to start one until I actually sent off my petition, which I did today!! All 101 pages of it, ugh. But the passport copies took up a lot of it along with the multiple pages of flight documents.

So excited!!

Cool! Mine wasn't nearly as many pages. I tried to provide enough to be representative of our relationship. Ours was touched on the 7th.

Got notice from USPS that the package got there today!

Oh man. I'm at work right now (I work with sick/premature infants) and it has been a busy night! I've been here for 4 hours and this is the first chance I've gotten to sit down.

I've been working a ton of overtime lately in order to help pay for visa/wedding stuff. We're hoping to get married next August or September, depending on USCIS processing.

Got my NOA1!!!

Darn Bank of America obscured the back of my check for security purposes, so I "chatted" online with one of their reps and got the EAC number, logged in, and got it!

According to my timeline, "Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between January 13, 2010 and January 23, 2010"

So...do we bug USCIS if it doesn't happen then? I called them up once asking some questions and it was a maze trying to get to speak to a real person.

According to Igor's list, there are 30 VSC August '09 K1 couples. Welcome! Please post :) Where are your beneficiary (good freaking everything, if I have to write that word out one more time on a post-it note from the application)'s from?

So I am looking at doing this K-1 visa but I am super nervous about the whole thing and wondering if I should hire a lawyer to do the paperwork. But I wanted to hear from people that have already into this process what do you think should I hire someone to do it or am I making it more complicated then it really is?

Hi there,

I filled out the paperwork myself. Many people have stated that you only need a lawyer if your case is complicated ie. enter US illegally or overstayed in the US.

I sent my documents a week ago and just received my NOA1 in the mail today. Just make you sure you follow to a "T" what they require and proofread everything. Also make copies and get a delivery confirmation.

With all that said, good luck!

^^ agreed. Unless you have a complicated case, it's definitely not worth the money.

Triple check everything and every time I had a question, I did a basic search on the K1 process forum and got it answered.

Why pay a lawyer to fill out forms that you can do yourself? The guides are soooo golden and I owe a lot to the people who put them together.

Good luck on the journey!!
