Sorry, iknow this is the wrong forum and i have also posted the same topic in the philippines sub forum. i am just trying to get an answer ASAP.

I bought my fiancee's ticket from a travel company and they issued me a ticket. I was on the phone with united airlines to ask for the baggage limits and the rep told me that there is a problem with my flight. She said that in the philippines that the ticket has to be sold and ticketed in the philippines. So they are telling me that the travel agency sold me a invalid ticket, is this true?

Only difference is if ticket is sold snd issued in PI you don't have to pay PTA travel tax' If purchased elsewhere the person in PI has to pay a P1620 travel tax. Plus a P750 terminal fee which everyone pays.

Haole is correct. This is what Trisha had to do when I purchased her ticket for her.

Make a scan or photocopy of your d/l and cc you used to purchase ticket and email it to her so JUST IN CASE they give her problems she has the info of who purchased the ticket the way you paid and then she has visa with your name attached and should have no problems.

I have heard of others running into problems in Manila with a ticket purchased by stateside fiance.

There is a rarely enforced Philippine law that all flights originating from the Philippines must be purchased in the Philippine. AA pulled this on me right after getting fined by the FAA. They sold me the ticket, refused to honor it after getting fined, and charged me the $150 cancellation fee.
