So we finally got a reply from our congressman about our K1. Turns our My fiance the USC is going through fbi background checks which is why we have not been approved yet. No one at uscis, our congressmen or the lawyer can tell us how long this has been going on let alone how much longer it will take.

Anyone have this happen to them or heard of it at this early stage of the K1 process? Our petition is at CSC.

The only thing David can come up with is that his work had a check done on him 2 years ago when he got his job at The Salvation Army.

But does he maybe have something in his background? I would assume not if he was hired by the salvation army. Interesting to say the least

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

The FBI background check is part of the standard process. If he has something in his background I can see that causing delays. Anything else is just the normal process.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

the FBI website says that it takes up to 3 months to do the background checks.

Good luck!
