Can anyone decipher what this means?

Hi everyone,

I got touched today and this is what it said:

"On July 5, 2006, we received your response to our request for evidence or information. However because preliminary processing was complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message. You will receive a written decision on this case. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. Follow the the link below for current processing dates."

Anyone have any idea what this means. In particular what does "the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message." I looked and looked, but there doesn't seem to be a time stated in the message.

At least it is moving along.

It means that they have absoluetly no idea what is going on and when your petition will be approved, so just hang tight and keep checking your account for a random approval date.

I read mine over and over as well, and I have absolutely no clue what they mean with "the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in this message ." What message are they talking about? Since THAT message doesn't mention anything about processing time.

I think they mean it will be processed faster than the maximum date their first gave out when giving you a NOA1. Mine said from 30-45 days so it should take less than 45 days. What a relief, huh? *sigh*

30-45 from NOW or 30-45 from your NOA1? And if they say that it will be "less" would it not be sooner than later?

No, they say that from the point they get the RFE they'll process it in less than original deadline, meaning, from now on they should process it in less than 45 days.

Cannot be from original 30-45 days 'cus I'm reaching day 90 already.

The NOA1 notice I got by email stated in part that "these cases are taking between 80 and 110 days to process". So I would take that to mean that even though they are processing the RFE that our case will take no longer the the original stated 110 days (from NOA1) to process. So what I beleive they are trying to say is our screw up will not affect your processing time. It is just their confusing USCIS way of saying things I think. At least that is what I would like to believe.

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

I received the same email notice today. It means that they have received your RFE response and it is now attached to your petition package and that it is logged in the computer. The timeline it refers to is the original timeline given to you by CSC for processing your package. Originally the web site told me it would take 90 to 120 days to process my petition (i.e. from NOA1 to NOA2) since we are working on 112 days since my NOA1 date it has little or no meaning. (IMBRA delayed everything almost a month) so going on recent history, you can figure that it will take 120 to 150 from NOA1 to NOA2 if your petition is at CSC. That is unless they get moving alot faster than they have since last fall.

Your timeline reinforces what I said. 45 days for processing, + 30 for IMBRA delay, puts you at 75 days. So barring any problems or any other RFEs you should be coming to the top of the list at Vermont.
