hello.... i am engaged to an american citizen who is a filipino by birth, he acquired his citizenship through naturalization. i am set to have an interview in manila this coming june 5, 2009. i am just so nervous because my situation is so complicated and i am so afraid to be denied because i really really really want to be with him and start a family there in the US. the situation is like this my family is all in the states and i am a nursing graduate i am so afraid that they would deny me because they would think that this plan of marriage is fake. my papers are all complete but my fiance's income last year did not reach $18,000 because he was laid off from work but he started to work again in a residential care home we calculated it both and his income for this year would reach 18,000 .... my papers are complete. for my evidence of genuine relationship i have mountains of phone records that we always talk everyday we talk for about hours even if he's at work, i have 100 pictures printed out with dates on it on his 2 visits which were november of last year and march of this year. i also have his 2 statement of accounts in the bank, i got 3 western union receipts which prove to say that he's sending money for the interview and medical expenses.

guys help me... do u think i have a big chance that i would be granted an non-immigrant fiance visa? please help...

I thought it was a bad sign to show money being sent to the fiance (but I'm not sure?

I suggest posting in a Filipino forum, you may get more specific help there.

It is impossible to say one way or the other - for the most part; if the relationship is genuine and neither person has had any 'issues' in the past, there should be no problems.

If indeed your case is as complicated as you say - perhaps a qualified family-based immigration attorney should review (or should have) your petition.

Note Petitioner's income comes into play at the time of intervie not when filing I-129F, Things can change between now and them.

I believe 18000 gross income is very close 125% poverty guideline for 2. would need perhaps $600 in the bank as an asset to make up the shortfall.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

You should be fine. How long have you met your fiance?

Just go in there confident, any accusations thrown at you... you should just reply on how much you love your fiance.

Make sure you know the tiniest detail of his life there. Where he lives, name of the company he is connected, what he does there besides the job title, his usual schedule, and every tiny bit of his life in the US.

If they ask about the income, make sure they see everything including your bank statements... because you are at the boarder of the poverty guideline.

If you can, answer through demonstration via your documents at hand.. ie. how many times did he visit you... say... he visited me three times, this is his first trip in Manila visiting me *show pics*

These are the tips that I've read so far from VJ people who've had their interview. As you can see... I haven't had mine.

Good luck sis!

The phone records and western union receipts are a big help ;) U won't need hundreds of photos, being that the screener will only pick out a handful. That's what they did at my fiancee Sarah's interview. They don't have the time to look at a hundred pics. U may want to bring pics that are relevant to a bonifide relationship. I've read on some posts that having met thru family raises the CO's attention. Ur fiancee's income may be low but his bank acct and ur graduate skills may offset any doubts the CO may feel or think. Good luck at the interview. Just be honest and confident about ur relationship and all will be well :innocent:

Ur answers should always have reference to the LOVE between U and ur fiancee =)

Just done on my interview yesterday. Yours will be on June 5. I felt the same way like you hehe. Are you done with ur medical test? On the day of ur interview, make sure you bring with u all the required documents and do not forget your appointment letter, BDO receipt and (2) visa photographs also bring 1 valid ID. Be there atleast an hour ahead or if you can make it earlier the better. For the EVIDENCE OF A MEETING PRIOR TO THE PETITION and EVIDENCE OF A GENUINE ENGAGEMENT you can bring any of this: your pics, photo copy of itinerary tickets, boarding pass, hotel bills, telephone bill, cc bill, receipt of remittance, cards etc. For the AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT the purpose of this is to prove that you will not become a public charge. A copy of the your fiance most recent Federal income tax return (Form 1040) should accompany the I-134. On our case, my fiance gave me a copy of his employment letter and a letter from his bank so included this 2 letters.

Regarding the interview, my experienced yesterday was very smooth and easy. The questions are all basic. They only asked about me, about my fiance and about our love story. I noticed some people they've been asked many questions and their interview took almost 10mins or maybe more. Mine I'm done in 4-5mins i guess. You should help yourself to relax. Keep positive and everything will be alright.

Fate put us together; guided our love ever since. It is our duty to protect, value and treated our love with so much care. LOVE TRULY, DEEPLY and FAIRLY!
