Cheap Passport Photos

I went and checked at the Post office, and it was $10 for 2 photos! That seems a little crazy to me. Especially since I need them for both my I-129F application and to get myself a passport. I know I could do them myself, but I'd prefer to have someone do them. Any clues as to who is cheaper? OR at the very least, a place that would take the photo and give me the digital file?

Do the photo places at Wal-mart do them? I can imagine they'd have to be cheap?

Ifyou have a digital camera, why don't you ask a friend or so to take them, then go on the computer and resize them so they will match the requrements.

Just think about the white background...take a few shots and then take the one that comes out best.

Basically, that's what the photographer did when I got my pics taken.

(If you decide to try it: He had me sit on a barstool type of chair, told me to put my hands on my legs with the fingertips pointing towards each other. Like that, he said, the shoulders coming up a little and it looks better (it did). Also, chin up and slightly forward.)

Good luck, it's for sure the cheapest way if you have to have a lot of pics. (Ok, not sure how much good photo print paper costs.....)

I know here in Michigan they have a CVS drug store and you get a whole sheet for 7.99. I think 9 or 12 photos on the whole sheet. Try your local drug store.

Mine were free :)

I followed the passport photo guides, used my 5 megapixel digi cam, a tripod and my sister. I cropped the pic to the correct dimensions and printed them out on my dad's hp ink jet printer and free kodak glossy photo paper that came with said printer.

We shall see if Vermont likes the pic as much as I did

If you have a membership at Costco, they are $5.99 (cdn) for 2, or alternatively, Wal-Mart is pretty cheap too.

Are you still in Canada, because if you are, I dont think we have walgreen's there (never saw one anyway).

I would advise not going to walmart, only because i have had many friends who have had to get there photos done over again because the pictures were too dark/shadowy.

I just went to a booth that was doing them in Zellers (most Zellers have them), it was 6.99 for two.

if passport photos that are $2 cheaper makes it easier for you ... you may want to re-evaluate your financial plan. this should be the simple, no-brainer part of your I-129F application as there are many more costs heading your way.

best of luck!

Nothing wrong with bargain hunting.

I paid $31 for 6 at Walmart, but Eckerds was $8 for 2 but their camera broke

$10 just seemed like a lot to me. Figured I'd poke around for a better bargain.

And yes, $2 cheaper does make it easier for me $2 is 2 more dollars to put towards my grad school fund.
