New to this...How do we see the approvals? And how do I see my status online? I sent in my application only yesterday. Thanks!

Well, lets do this by question:

1) How do we see the approvals?

Go to where it says "Immigration Timelines" on your page and then go to where it says "Processing Status: Igor's List". Then, you can use the different options to make a search for either NOA1, NOA2, etc.. which center either CSC or VSC...

2) And how do I see my status online?

I believe you are referring to your actual application with the USCIS, well if you put a tracking number on your package, you can see when it is delivered to the USCIS location in either VSC or CSC depending which location you sent it to. Second, you'll need to wait for a letter from the USCIS which is a notice of action, NOA, informing you that they received your application, in that letter there is a case number assign only to you. With that information you can create an account on the USCIS website, "www.uscis.gov" and after creating the account you can add your case number, which will have the option of adding automatic emails informing you if there is a change of status on your application. (this process is not too fast/accurate) the one you should rely on is the actual written, NOA's, communication from the USCIS.

Now, if you are talking about your status in VJ, well that one you update yourself when you receive any notification, by creating/updating your timeline... this link can be accessed from your profile page.

I hope I answered your questions, if not let me know and I'll do a better job... hope this helps!! good luck!!

I would just add one thing about Igor's list, especially in the early stages. Your number on that list (once you've entered a timeline) won't be stable for a few weeks. If you start off at something like 400, then see it rise over the next few weeks, that isn't unusual. What is happening is that folks who sent the forms into USCIS are getting their timelines in later, but filed earlier. The process isn't going backwards when that happens. These folks were in the system before you anyway, it's just that their data wasn't visible in the VJ system.

The sooner everyone updates the timeline with both pending and approvals, the better the data coming out.

You may have already figured that out. But it drove me crazy the first few weeks when I saw my number going the wrong way. Hope it helps!

I never would have believed my journey to happiness would begin with something called an "I-129F"

03/19/09 - I-129F Sent

03/20/09 - NOA1 (rec'd harcopy 3/26/09)

03/24/09 - Check cleared

03/25/09 - Touched

8/12/09 - Touched (4 hours before NOA2 email)

8/12/09 - NOA2 email received

***Received email at noon (Weds)

***USCIS site did update with the status

***Was 113 on Berkeley list; 156 on VJ list

Thanks, I did not know that!!

On a side note... no approvals in two days!!!
