I have noticed alot of new members posting and their timelines are not filled in, this will definately throw the averages on the statistics in which case the estimates of timelines will be just about useless as the USCIS estimates LOL

Please remember to fill in your timelines and to keep it updated at all times as this is very important in helping other members to answer any of your future questions effectively and quickly if they can see what stage you are at and which embassy, service centre you are going through etc. PLUS IT IS VITAL for calculating the statistics on this board to help others and yourselves to get accurate timeline data on the searches.

Also PLEASE READ the guides at the top of the forums to find any information you need, you may have to read these a few times to fully understand the process, before you start posting your questions as most of these questions are repetative.

There is a wealth of knowledge on VJ and I am sure everyone is willing and helpful at all stages of your journey, but the most important thing would be - DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH as each case is different, besides YOU need to know what YOU are doing :)

Excellent Advice!

If I can add something. It's really easy to create a 'signature' so that whenever you post, everyone can see perdinant information. You basically add lines of text on your signature as your timeline and as you update the signature, all your posted replies will display the changes! I thought I'd say that because I had to ask somebody here how they were displaying their timelines on their posts. Feel free to text me if you need help! :yes:

Yes this is also a good suggestion , but REMEMBER! updating your signature is good but DONT FORGET to update the actual timeline :) as that is where the data comes from :)

Oh and another thing the timeline doesnt just stop after the interview, you can continue to put your AOS information too:)

Hi,

I understand about filling the timelines in etc. and I obviously can't comment for any other new members on the board but I personally have not filled in a time line because I don't actually have one. I have not begun my visa journey yet. I like to read the guides etc on the forum and thanks to them I think (pray) I have a better understanding about exactally what I'm doing. Until I came to visa journey I di not know about DCF and thought I would have to go back to the States to appy for my hubby's visa!!! So apologies and I will update as soon as I start posting those forms!!! :thumbs:

I'm looking forward to when I can post something new to my timeline. I know I've got a good wait and shouldn't get impatient yet but with IMBRA and CSC combined everything is up in the air.

Thanks for the reminders though to keep your "official" timeline up to date so when we do searches it has all the most recent data available.

04 May 2006 - Mailed I-129F to Laguna Niguel

09 May 2006 - Delivered to Laguna Niguel (USPS tracking) and is also the Received Date on the NOA1

24 May 2006 - Check cleared the bank

25 May 2006 - Received NOA1 in the mail (postmarked 24 May and notice date of 22 May)

28 June 2006 - Received IMBRA RFE in the mail (postmarked 27 June and notice date of 23 June)

29 June 2005 - Returned IMBRA RFE overnight service to CSC (signed as received at 7:46 AM, 30 June)

03 July 2006 - Received 2 identical emails from USCIS-CSSO saying they sent me the IMBRA RFE

04 July 2006 - Touched

05 July 2006 - Touched

05 July 2006 - Received 2 identical emails from USCIS-CSSO stating they received my RFE response on 5 July

21 June 2008 - Received AP approval letter

28 June 2008 - Received EAD cards

24 September 2008 - Received interview letter

Interview scheduled for November 25th

25 November 2008 - Interview in San Bernadino, GC approved

We used it to calculate our wait as well. The timelines are fantastic. I don't have one though, and here's why as it might be the same for some others our there.

My fiance and I are both on this site (he's that good lookin pcraddy fellow :P ) and he is my stat man. His account has our timeline while I keep mine just on my signature. We did this because he made a very good point that if we both had a timeline we'd throw off the stats, it would show two accounts being processed in xxx days/how many were waiting for an interview on the london thread/etc. He keeps the official one for the stats and I keep mine in the signature line. Cant go skewwing the numbers!

Just something to think about if there are other couples out there who are using VJ together. I know this site made this all a million times better/easier for us!

February: Oops, RFE for a REGISTERED marriage certificate. Oops! Overnighted it.

02/28/2007 Paul gets email letting us know his GREENCARD is on it's way! It's done...for now!

03/09/2007 Paul's greencard arrives. And breathe...

We began with mailing the I-129 in on February 27, 2006 so the whole process took us approx. one year.

Obviously that is ok - if you havent sent your Petition in then you are right you have no timeline, maybe new members can just put that in their signature and actually fill in the timeline when the pack has been sent.

Very good point Joey, this is also a good thing for new members to remember, if both the parties are on VJ, please only one person fill in the timeline as IT DOES throw the stats. Yes I know I am a sucker for stats lol

How could you tell as to when the approximate date for the interview was? Wouldn't that be hard to find out?

Not really it would be an estimate. This is why the timelines are important. If you go to the Immigration Timelines at the top of the page and click that you can do a search on the timelines. You can search for what K1 was filed at say for example Nebraska and the alien is in UK and if you select a date criteria you will get a list of all those USC that sent their petitions to Nebraska and their fiance is in London and going through the london embassy. After the list which you can show in full detail or just a simple version (I like the full version, theres alot more data there lol) there is a breakdown of the average number of days between NOA1 and NOA2 and Interview etc. Obviously this is only an estimate as some dont fill their timeline in - hence why it is very important that new members do fill it in.

Also bear in mind each case is different and that there may be other comlications so this estimate is just that and estimate:)
