'Monk' stars in downtown Covina

I was driving through Covina today and I noticed a bunch of people and equipment downtown and then I saw a sign "business's still open during filming" so I just checked online and this is what I found out...

COVINA - The stars of the USA television show "Monk" will be in Downtown Covina Tuesday and Wednesday as the show films portions of a future episode in some select locations, city officials said.

Restaurant Casa Moreno and the Covina Arts Center will both have their interiors and exteriors used for filming, said Covina business license technician Steve Painter.

"It is nice to have filming back in Covina," Painter said.

Crews will be in downtown for the majority of both days. Traffic should flow normally around the area, except for 90 seconds or two minute long breaks where traffic may be slowed or stopped due to the filming, Painter said.

"Monk" stars Tony Shalhoub as Adrian Monk, a private detective who works with the San Francisco Police Department on homicide investigations, but has an "extreme case of obsessive-compulsive disorder", according to the show's website.

This is southen Califonia. You will find that as you watch movies and such you will start picking up where the location really is. Kind of fun actually

I keep meaning to watch it.. I have seen bits and pieces of it and it looks good..

I just thought it was cool that a major show is filming not to far from where we live...

this isn't the greatest picture but this is the area where they were filming...

I do that too, but just a few movies are filmed in Minnesota.

I was watching Factorum, having no idea that it was filmed in Minnesota, until i started noticing the Minneapolis skyline in the background. I found out later that it was filmed in an old building (Before it was converted it into a high end hotel) right next to where i went to college.

This movie was filmed for an evening last summer just outside of my apartment. Its a small independent movie and i doubt it will see much of a release.

the SCiFi show Eureka is partially filmed in Chilliwack, BC, Canada.. the town where I am from...

I sometimes recognize some of the buildings etc..

Yep. Hopefully it will have a fitting end. At the very least, Trudy's murder should be solved.
