I originally joined the March 2009 filers but it is depressing since everyone in that group was ahead of me :crying::crying::crying::crying: . I sent I-130 on 3/30/09 and it was received the next day....

One upside to a recession is the drop in airline prices... I saw tickets as cheap as $900 to Vietnam (down from $1500 this time last year). How is everyone?

Remember to send a check with the application, I found too late that with a check you with online banking readoff the case number when the check is posted- presumely before the NOA1 comes. I sent in a Money Order and now waiting and waiting.

299 days doesn't sound so long if only it was certain that everything would be said and done if we counted those days... I think its the uncertainty that I really hate about this whole process

I received my NOA-1 today. 10 days right now. My service center is Vermot, but I was forwared to the California Service Center. What do you guys know about when/why it gets transferred to a difference service center??? Goodluck everyone, hope to hear not NOA-1's arriving soon...

Hi everyone,

I mailed mine (I-130) in March but received the NOA-1 in April so I'm counting myself in this group. I sent in a money order too but didn't even know about the NOA1 until 2 days before I got it - since someone signed for the mail I figured they had it. Ignorance is bliss. Now I'm developing a personality disorder from checking the USCIS website so often (even knowing that it won't show anything so soon!!).

Has anyone heard anything about the H1B visa apps and if they might slow down our processing times? I'm kicking myself for not filing in Feb (they seem to have had great luck).

From what I've been reading sometimes they shift the workloads to CSC. I would be super happy to be at the CSC instead of the VSC. CSC is alot faster to get your NOA2 statistically. Good luck on your journey ours starts 4/22/2009 and will be mailing our I-130 to the chicago lockbox.

Chrisvy, you can involve senators if you're outside the timeframe already. otherwise, futile effort. you may want to hold off until you actually need help.

Patience is a virtue that you will have to develop while going through this process.

Got ours mailed today 04/21/2009. Looking at your timeline we have the same wedding day. Was a GREAT friday the 13th for us with 13 people attending the wedding. Good luck on your journey. I'm very anxious but more relieved now that we finally got the I-130 sent. Just glad we got the first step mailed.
