An Iraqi defense ministry official reports that at least six gay men have been shot dead in two separate incidents during the past 10 days in a Shia-controlled part of Baghdad. The official said today that three bullet-riddled bodies of gay individuals have been identified in Sadr City:

“Three corpses of homosexuals have been recovered in Sadr City.
Two of the bodies, found on Thursday, had pieces of paper attached on which was written the word ‘Pervert.’
The third body was retrieved on Friday,” the official said.

Other dead bodies had the word “puppies” written on their chests. Puppy is a derogatory word used by residents in Sadr City to refer to gays. Witnesses told CNN that a Sadr City cafe, which was a popular gathering spot for gays, was also set on fire.

Did we expect that having deposed a tyrant in that country, that the populace would suddenly embrace our values with open arms?

There are hate crimes everywhere (even in America). Saddam tortured his own people, could you imagine if our president ran a secret police that targeted a specific race or religion he didn't like? Say our president went after Jews, and they "disappeared" after being apprehended by this secret police, never to be seen again. Killed or tortured by mustard gas, chemical weapons, nerve agents, beaten to a pulp, hung, thrown off of buildings, breaking their bones, cutting off their hands, burning them with acid, cutting out their tongues, etc. Exterminating hundreds of thousands of them over a couple of decades. I'm pretty sure our country would be a better place if we got rid of a president like that.

Viewer discretion is advised, you might not be able to make it up to 3 minutes, but we expected this sort of behavior to come to an abrupt halt after hanging that sicko:

India, gun buyback and steamroll.

It really doesn't suprise me, though it is sad. They execute people for being the wrong religion, they executed doctors and other educated professionals because they felt threatened by them. My husband couldn't even work as a doctor there because they threatened him. I saw where Christian Iraqi women were threatened and/or killed because they wouldn't cover their hair. They have even executed women hair stylists because they say it is allowing women to go around looking beautiful in front of men that aren't their relatives. There is no sense to how some of these people think.

We did? I didn't. Its no surprise that a brutalized population perpetrates barbarous acts.

Iraq has yet to resolve its sectarian tensions and much power is in the hands of extremist zealots (supported by largely uneducated "peasantry" for lack of a better term).

My guess is that the fundamentalists will end up winning the battle for iraqs soul, whether that be 10 or 20 years down the line. I hope that isn't the case, but there's little reason to be optimistic.

Again, I am HER HUSBAND,

I really don't want to get deep through this, cause I am so tired of discussing this, I even hate this subject now more than anything,

But I am going to comment on few things:

@ Private Pike, please don't say you didn't, cause you did, everybody thought that same idea, everybody had that dump thought in his/her mind,

@ every body: you all discuss the fate of a country like it is a game (counter strike) and you just have to win the game no matter what, but the truth is that over 33 countries in this world (may be more) punished 30 000 000 Iraqis because of one man (Saddam), this is the truth,

those countries started a sanction (siege) on 30 000 000 people for over 12 years just to get one man (Saddam), we were starving because we didn't have enough food, our children were dying because there were no medicine, our parents start to have all the heart diseases because they couldn't handle it anymore, no power (electricity), no water (spread of diseases), no work ...etc why is that? because those countries wanted one man named Saddam so they punished 30 000 000 Iraqis,

Those 12 years of sanction made me people become different, every body work over 15 hours a day and they still can't make enough money, the rich became poor, the poor became a thief, the thief start to kill for money, ...etc., your problem is that you don't see it, but I lived it every single day, every body of you think that his mind is smart and he is the one who knows the truth and everything, but in fact you weren't there, I was there, I grew up there, I saw how that sanction made people change, I saw how the war in 1991 made people become different, those countries who started that sanction were the reason behind what is happening now, but unfortunately most people know that fact but they can't handle thinking of it so they always look only for an update and discuss things based on its current time when the truth is it is based on history of 12 years of sanction,

Before 1990, I was rich, my family was rich, after 1990 we became so poor, we barely survived with having debit over millions, me and my brothers and my father were all working and couldn't make enough money to help one family to survive, I saw good people changed into devils, I saw a generous man starved to death, I saw a lot, did that happen before 1990? no, never, before 1990 if we have one thief (ONLY ONE) in Iraq then you can hear all Iraqis talk about how could that thief steal something? they couldn't even believe we have a thief in Iraq, but after 1990 (after that sanction) everything changed,

That's how those countries punished 30 000 000 of Iraqis for the action of one man (Saddam), and you know the irony? Saddam had everything during the sanction, he was a president and he never got affected like every body president in the world they never starve, they always has everything, they live like Gods on this earth, only Iraqis got affected by that sanction,

This is the history of how people changed in Iraq and why,

Now after the war in 2003, and because of that sanction (children died and lots of thieves and killers) those people were ready and starvation had already trained them well during 12 years of sanction, so of course you would expect everything may happen, a country without gov. or law and foreigners who don't care, what do you expect?

The only irony that I really laugh at and makes me really sad at the same time is that:

The same people who had the Iraqi children starve to death and die because of lack of medicine during 12 years of sanction, are the same people who came later by the name of HELPING AND FEEDING the Iraqi children,

Anyway, you guys take care of yourselves, and good luck,

Best regards,

HER HUSBAND

It's interesting that Iraqis are hurting and we're concerned less with their day-to-day struggle than we are with what they do with a few homosexuals. Why? Because the homosexual angle makes us feel good about ourselves and our culture (since we do let them live, if not marry).
