OK guys, as you all know from a post I made a few weeks ago, I was procrastinating about sending in my I-751. After much ado, and some 200 odd pages of photocopies, I have it ready to go...(dont panic, I did a duplicate copy, what Im sending is only about 110 pages,...lol). Always pays to have an exact copy of whats sent, so if any questions are asked, or it gets lost in the mail, you already have a head start,...

I have to thank Meauxna for some words of encouragement, and logical answers to probably some stupid questions, but non the less, Thanks MEAUXNA!!!

I have one last question, and my brain is fried,.....whats the best way to send this thing in, so I know it gets there. It was a just over two years ago I sent in my AOS and other stuff, but I honestly cant remember how I did it. Being overseas on a military base, we do have USPS facilities, though somewhat reduced in services offered. Can anyone refresh my memory as to how I send this thing,...so as I get a response that its been delivered to the PO Box at Laguna Niguel CA.

and one more question,...Can it be tracked at USCIS online, or no???

Thank you guys,....

Ok, that makes sense why it is so much. I guess we haven't bothered with so many copies of bills etc. And we certainly didn't want to share our wills with the USCIS. Anyway, good luck and hope it goes smoothly

I can understand your concern with the wills,..but the way we see it, he works for the military, and the Government already knows all about everything in our lives because of it so it wasnt going to really matter to us...

Ouch! 110 pages!? :)

Ask at the PO how you can get a receipt---not registered, I think, but return receipt requested.. I can never remember & always have to ask at the PO.

Individual I-751s (and N-400s) can not be tracked online. Just keep an eye on the processing dates for your Service Center--it will prolly be a few months before you get any action, but you should receive your extension letter/NOA thingie within a couple of weeks.

Back to the bills etc: I was more modest and included 2 of each per year covered ie, one from each 6 months or so instead of 4. Did this for bank statements, bills etc. That cut down my pages a bit. You're also sending in multiple-page documents like the will & orders that add up.

Don't change anything--everyone's situation is unique and you will make a level-headed decision on what to include that describes *your* relationship.

Good job on getting over the procrastination! And, you're welcome, but it was nothing. I just talk a lot. :) Now, time to start studying N-400! <g>

Frances, I'm gonna steal that kitty av.

I have a lot of electronic accounts too. You can find original bills from the paper days and print corresponding info from your online accounts. It all has the same info.

Variety is the key. And individuality. Remember that each couple is unique & will have their own types of evidence. If you have a good variety, you only need a few pages of bills. Less can be more. There have been files approved with less than 10 pages sent in (NCPenguin, britishexpats group).

And the research is easy. All you have to do is consult the pinned threads at the top of the I-751 & N-400 forums!

Meauxna is right - I certainly didn't have that many pages in my I-751 (perhaps... 20-30 or so) and got my conditions lifted with no problem. Although affidavits aren't required, I do think the ones we sent helped with my case.

Wow, 110 pages is super huge. I just sent my application and supporting docs in last week - about 30 pages in total (I procrastinated for the first 60 days too!) and received a notice in the mail today saying I should go get fingerprinted at the local application support center. I hope they don't decide at a later stage that I didn't send enough.

I'm about to send the I-751 "packet" in for my wife and right now it totals 66 pages. When I first read that people were sending in 100 page books, I too became a little nervous. However, once you start putting it together, the pages add up pretty fast when you start counting for example, 2 pages for your each year's tax returns, etc, etc.

In general, most people go overboard because they get paranoid, but I have a sort of different view on this matter.

In my opinion, the burden of proof in on the USIS. They have to be able to prove, and more importantly, be able to back it up in front of their superiors and immigration courts that a marriage is indeed fraudulent. Can you imagine the headache you could create for yourself if you are one of these caseworkers that looks at these packets all day, and you deny someone permanent residence based on your opinion that they didn't present enough evidence?

Anyone that has ever worked in a State of Federal Govt office knows what I am talking about here. The oversight on job performance is unrelenting.

If someone has affidavits of support from family and friends, photos of vacations over a 2 year period, but doesn't have a joint mortgage, or life insurance, or whatever, who is to say that the marriage isn't/wasn't real? Imagine the jump they have to make to come to that conclusion. Afterall, they are dealing with the rest of people's lives here, and that's why I say the burden of proof is on them. Other may disagree or think that is a foolish statement, but as I said, if you have ever been in a Govt position, or can imagine working as an USIS caseworker, I don't think it is.

I am sending 66 pages though. :)

Def not---I haven't said it in a while, but start saving stuff from the day you get your PR status--I just kept a folder near my desk and threw appropriate papers in there throughout the couple of years. It made it very easy to pull together the application at the right time. :)
